I ordered several and they all came damaged in one way or the other. They are good chairs when they come undamaged.

This chair is a hazard because it has no frame. It comprises two "D" shaped metal parts that form the sides and arms, but there are no "cross-bars." How does it hold together? You are supposed to bolt the sides to the seat cushion, which provides all of the structural support. If someone uses this chair as a step ladder there is a good chance that it will pancake to the right or left, causing the person to fall and potentially get injured. I know people aren't supposed to use chairs as step ladders, but it happens. If you put this chair in a home, shop, or office, how will you feel when a family member / customer / employee lands on their head? Here are some other disadvantages of this product:- Wobbly design: A seat cushion is not a high-precision part. You will be hard-pressed to get the sides to line up "square," and as a result this chair will wobble.- The seat and back are composed of cheap urethane and are not particularly comfortable.- It's too hard to assemble: You're supposed to juggle all these parts and leave the bolts "finger tight," and then once it's together tighten it all up. Then you discover it wobbles, and repeat. No thanks. There is no excuse for this terrible design. An item this small should be completely assembled at a factory and shipped with no assembly required. It should be a welded steel or aluminum frame with- no need for the consumer to struggle to get the parts aligned."Alera" is a private label brand from United Stationers, an office products wholesale distributor based in North America. I suppose that you could compare Alera to a store brand in the supermarket, in other words a cheap alternative to a branded product, but often lacking in quality. I would think twice before buying another Alera product.

This chair is not very comfy, but it looks decent, it is easy to put together, and it is cheap.

Laugh if you want, but I only bought this chair for exercising purposes. I use it to do buttock tucks with my legs propped up on the seat. That really works the hamstrings like nobody's business!I work out to Cathe Friedrich and Kathy Smith, and she uses a high step platform to do the tucks but I prefer the chair because it's more comfortable for me. And this chair rocks because it's rock solid. No shaking and what not. And the handles of the chair are dandy when I do Kathy Smith's Secrets of a Great Lower Body Workout. And it's real easy to put together. No problem at all. And my nephew loves to sit in this chair for his Play Station gaming.

Upholstry wrinkled and poorly applied. Not very comfortable, but as reception chairs go it is acceptable. For the price it is ok.

My Wife and I ordered these chairs for our hair salon and have been generally pleased with them. They get a bit dirty and need to be cleaned, wish they were a vinyl or something on that order. Easy setup, very sturdy... good purchase.
