Not worth it , pay an extra $100 or so for a charge that won’t break immediately

so far worked well for charging a Tesla model 3. I could not tell that it gets hot or not. As I charge overnight the speed was also not critical to me but it so far indicated charging with 32A.

This EV Charger by Alxum, is a solid option for any EV owner for home or travel, unless you need super quick turnarounds. Let’s take a closer look at what may or may not make this a good choice for your situation.I. Quality – This charger looks and feels like a well-made choice that appears to be made out of good quality materials. I’d put the overall quality in the upper-middle level of the quality scale, but will say that it’s surprisingly high for a charger at this level of cost.II. Performance – It’s been a great performer that’s easy to use, with a fairly high rate of charge of up to 32 amps max and the ability to choose 4 amperages to match you needs. Some are offering as high as 50A, but it’s rarely needed by most people and comes with a high cost typically. Unless you need to charge quickly, so you can leave again. In that case, you may want to consider a higher amperage unit, such as a 50A. The cables are fairly thick and well-made, but only 16.4 feet long, which is on the very short end of what’s available. It doesn’t come with any wall mounts for either the charging end or main unit. This means that it will just hang down out of the socket unless you build something to hold it. The included bag is much nicer than most included bags and appreciated if you need to take it with you. This unit also comes with a screen that displays useful information like volts, amp, charging time and temperatures. It comes with 7 different safety features and a NEMA-14-50 plug, that will require 240V’s and a 40A breaker to accommodate the full 32A.Overall, this is an inclusive, good quality and solid performing set-up that has been great to have. Currently, its offering at a huge value for this level of performance. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

This is one of these moments where I wish I could give 4.5 stars because this is a high-quality charger that works perfectly with my model 3. The cable is thicker than the official mobile charger, and the LED screen is a nice touch, especially since you can change the amperage from it -- though I think it should auto-sense anyway. Minor nit.My two concerns about this cable are:1. it doesn't have the "click to open" functionality. I believe another model from this company may, but I assumed it would since it has the button. But it just unlocks the port once connecting. Not a huge deal because if you just lightly tap the port cover it will open.2. It's always on. This is my larger gripe. When not connected to the car, the LEDs pulse in a "ready" type of way, but it seems like a waste of energy no matter how little it may be. Perhaps the intent isn't to keep it plugged but I use the Tesla mobile charger as my main way to charge, so this is a stark difference to me.All-in-all I think this is a good mobile charger and happy to have a backup if needed, but I may continue to use the Tesla one for the reasons I mentioned above.
