Bought this to spin pizzas in my outdoor wood burning oven. The distal end of the shaft, just proximal to the tines, has charred pretty good. I suspect the tip will fall off soon. I have used this for three events where I was spinning about 25 pies per night. Not putting the fork in the flame, just the fire is hot, >900 degrees. Wood just burns. Wonder if there is an alternative, cost effective material that could be used for the shaft. Metal and plastic are out. Not sure if carbon fiber would hold up to the heat, nor would it be as in expensive. Planning to buy a new one, probably annually

Nice quality but really long. My fault for not paying attention to the 39 inches. Way too long for your home pizza oven.
