I disliked carrying my 3lb metal anchor as I was afraid I was going to end up puncturing my inflatable kayak with it by mistake. This anchor bag solved the issue entirely, It's easy enough to fill it with stones from the beach before I launch and it rinses out well enough at the end of the day to be folded up in the back of the kayak seat and tossed into the van.

I love taking out my SUP, but sometimes I like to just hang out on the water in the bay. Wind and waves will cause me to drift, but this anchor allows me just to hang out and relax on the water. While I like that this packs up fairly small, it can be a bit messy to fill up the bag with sand.

I got this to go with my Old Town Sportsman PDL 106 fishing Kayak, and it seems like it will work well as a simple anchor system for that vessel, although I think it's mostly for a shallow water or shore anchor system when you are landing the craft. In my case, that's mostly what I am looking for. Since it's just a simple bag that you can fill with rocks, sand, or gravel - there is no need to integrate a heavy anchor system into the kayak. The bag seems pretty well made, it's a heavier PVC type of material that does seem like it's up to the task of some heavy usage using sand, rocks, etc as the weight for the anchor itself.

This is a cool little kit. The Anchor is a bag meant to hold gravel or sand, which provide the weight. You have to provide those things yourself. The bag then seals up and is used as an anchor. The package comes with rope and a dock clip as well. Really everything you need to anchor your jet ski. Nice that you can add the sand or gravel yourself, as it lowers the cost of the product. Less weight for shipping and a bag of sand at Home Depot is cheap!

The sand bag/anchor that I received matches its description. The PVC sand bag is large and has a handle on the bottom to help carry and to help dump out the sand when finished. The bag has a separate cord to close the top of the bag and the rope attaches separately to the bag. The rope has a float on it so that you can disconnect your PWC, leave the sand anchor and then see the rope end to hook back up when you return. The bag seems to be well constructed. I was surprised that there isn't a reinforced hole in the bottom of the bag to let water drain, as that can make the anchor bag much easier to carry. The bottom handle is reinforced, but I don't see a handle on the top of the bag and the rope attachment strap doesn't seem sturdy enough to use to carry the bag; a reinforced handle to carry the bag when it is full of sand and water would be nice to have. Overall, I think this sand anchor bag will do a good job of anchoring a PWC.

LIKE:- Very light bag when not filled.- Anchor line and clip can go into the bag, and you can fold it up real compact while kayaking, floating, etc.- It can easily become heavy enough to hold a canoe, kayak, inflatable, paddleboard, maybe even a jon boat.- Clip looks like galvanized steel, should be durable and rustproof- Handle on the bottom of the bag would let you reach underwater and start dumping sand while you pull the bag up, makes it easier to haul up.- Bright yellow bouy easily slides up or down the line to adjust for depth and makes it easy to spot your anchor. Especially useful if motorboats/jetskis or lots of wading foot traffing in the area.TAKE NOTE:- The description says that while not in use this can be a "dry bag" for your stuff. I don't think that's realistic, there is no way to ensure water not getting in. It could keep stuff dry carefully sitting in a few inches of floor water, but will not keep water coming from the top from splashes or capsizing.- Description says it can hold up to 35lbs. It feels that way BUT the inner volume of this bag could potentially hold much more than 35lbs of sand or rocks, so be careful not to overload it.- The pre-attached anchor line is braided into itself at both ends (NOT a knot). You'd have to cut it to add a longer one, which seems like a waste of pre-made craftsmanship. It's 7 feet long, which means you get to drop anchor at significantly less depth. Basically, if your feet can touch the bottom, you can use this anchor there. Any deeper and you're gonna need a longer line to prevent drifting. So in that way it's perfect for using at your adventure destination, like a sandbar or just floating off the shore of a beach... NOT for stopping to fish in the middle of a real lake.- Make sure you have a plan how to fill it when you get there OR come pre-filled and then dump the bag for a lighter return trip. Showing up with an empty bag and scooping up mucky lake floor sounds unpleasant.

When I was searching for small anchors for my kayak, I couldn't get around the extra weight they would add. It would also take up bulky room. I can't sacrifice either of these things. The bag itself is similar to a drybag. There is a drawstring closure, stainless steel triangle ring to attach rope to, and the coolest thing is the handle on the bottom. I'm not Superwoman anymore, and I'm also not allowed to lift much. Hopefully, I can lay the bag on its side, fill it up, close it, and then be able to pick it up with a handle and the top.The clip that comes with it to attach to your vessel is of good quality. I'm not sure if it is a metal that will rust or not. It might be worth investing in a better hook down the road, but for now, this one will work great. There is a small buoy on the rope as well. I have no idea if it would stay afloat if the hook cam undone. I’ll find out when the weather gets nicer. So as far as space, it's not that big at all. I will probably use one of my webbing straps with a buckle to keep it contained and either put it in one of my dry bags or hook it on the kayak with another clip. This is a great idea for small vessels. No one needs to haul an anchor around that they will drop on their foot or have to haul around. I have yet to use it because it is winter, but I have a feeling it will go great. The only thing I wish it came with would be a patch kit for the bag.Forecasting a 10/10 :o)
