Very comfortable to wear. Heavy duty face shield. Well constructed, great value for the price. Works well for power tree pruning, chain sawing and forest clearing.

I purchased four of these in total 2 in green and 2 in orange and after 2 weekends of using them I am very disappointed with the product as the face shield is almost completely useless, it does not stay in the down position after looking down also the face shield will not stay clipped in when trying to reset the face shield from the raised position resulting in constantly fixing the issue and not working in safety. I should have just spent the extra money and purchased the sthil brand forestry helmet as it is in my opinion much more user friendly. This helmet is only good as a hard hat only at best.

Now that I wear glasses, I found myself in need of something to protect them. Goggles and safety glasses tend to rub the lens of eyeglasses, causing scratches. That's fine for a cheaply replaced pair of readers, not so much for a 100-600 dollar pair of prescriptions. This fit the bill better than anything I've come across and also is the best hardhat I've ever used for construction.Having searched high and low, at less than fifty bucks this was the best bang for your buck option I found anywhere. Much cheaper than your name brand stuff from Stihl and others, some of which didn't appear to be made much, if any better. This amazon listing was even cheaper than many helmets alone, even ones that appeared to be identical in design in every way. In addition to the mesh face shield, best suited for chainsaw work, I wanted a solid clear visor to keep dust out my eyes in a construction environment. So that was another twenty bucks. Aolamegs was sold out of the optional visor at the time. So, I ordered one from Smasys instead, as based on pictures I suspected they were identical. The Smasys visor fit perfectly, and was actually a couple bucks cheaper than the clear Aolamegs visor at the time. There seem to be a lot of names selling this same helmet with different visor options or no visor at all on amazon. But, if you want the mesh shielf and muffs, this listing is the way to go, at least at the moment this review was written.Since getting this, I've used it both for ripping and plaining wood at the shop (with the visor to protect my glasses), yardwork and cutting down a few large, dead trees, with the mesh shield. Fortunately, I haven't had to seriously test the helmets protectiveness yet. But as with most hardhats, if you ever REALLY need it, it'll probably be a one and done thing. As yet, it's only been bumped a few times by smallish falling limbs to bigger than a couple inches in diameter, in which case both the mesh screen and helmet held its own. The mesh screen is good for keeping small limbs from scratching your face. But it's not a thick-barred cage; it's not going to fully protect your face from a direct blow from something hard and heavy. The earmuffs could press a bit more snug against your head. At first, they don't seem to clamp down at all, until you figure out you've got to push them in at the anchor point. After some break-in, they begin to clamp down more effortlessly though. The muffs are fine at reducing dangerously loud noise. But if you're in a very loud environment, like running saws or a plainer indoors where the sound is amplified by the walls, you'll probably want to double up with plugs, like they do in machine factories. Fitting the muffs properly around your ears, they also tend to push the helmet off my head a bit, and I've got a fairly big noggin. Bu it still feels very comfortable (cooler than a ball cap) and the added space can only give your head more cushion in the event of a hard impact. As for the chinstrap, you don't really need it with the head strap snugged, which works really well, and especially with the muffs down, as they tend to keep the hat on all by themselves, even if you're practically upside down. But, when I do wear the chinstrap, I usually push the soft rubber chin-cup to the side and run it under my chin like a motorcycle helmet, rather than over the chin itself, like you would a football helmet.Mine also came with the pictured stickers, including 3 American flags, but I hadn't adhered any at the time these pictures were taken.

This is a nice helmet that checks all the boxes, with a price that is reasonable. I was able to easily assemble the face mask and ear muffs. I like that the ear muffs can be set so they are not putting pressure around my ears, when they are not needed. I was able to use this helmet in a lift yesterday. The chin strap helps keep the help helmet secure on my head as I move around in the bucket wrestling branches as they are cut. The face mask mesh is steel, so that help with keeping my face and prescription glasses out of harm's way. The muffs sufficiently attenuate chainsaw noise. I am very satisfied with this purchase for doing work in a lift or climbing / cutting in a tree. I also like that I can buy the clear eye shield later, if I find the mesh gets in my way while climbing.

I got the helmet with ear protection and face screen. It came fully assembled in the box, less the screen that I needed to attach. The suspension seems pretty sturdy and the adjustment wheel works well to attach it snugly to your head. It is very comfortable with the foam and sweat bands front a back. The ear protection works well and is adjustable, up and down. The visor has three defined detents and locks in each position securely. Time will tell on the durability but it seems well made.
