This large diaphragm USB condenser mic is worth as much as an ordinary large diaphragm condenser mic *and* an audio interface, combined! This compact mic is kept in a small, nifty box, fit with a pop filter and multiple cables for connecting to your computer/laptop/iPhone/Android!It picks up sound so well, sometimes too well! I had to change out of my baggy clothes into more well-fitting ones for voiceover because it'd pick up the fabric noise XDDepending on the preset and the gain chosen, you're going to need a well-treated room (or, at least, a mic screen!)With the right resources, this is a very competent microphone once you learn how to use it!

Although it is on the pricey side this mic has beautiful sound quality. Very easy to use. I use it for recording my podcasts. I connected it to my I-phone and sound quality was perfect. However, when connected to my desktop (which is a ten years old Toshiba) for an online interview, I wasn’t as satisfied with the sound quality. Was it the old computer or the mic I do not know. I am not a techie. All I know, it is a high quality mic recommended to me by a friend who is a dubbing artist. Those of you on a tighter budget could look for other mics recommended by podcasters. Had I known good quality, below 100$ mics were available, I might have considered different options. All said and done, I am happy with my purchase. It is quite a small size, very portable, easy to mount and start. Comes handy with a nice hard top bag. Hope this helps.

I could not get this mic to work correctly for me. When I tried to use it I got this pop swoosh sound at the beginning of my recordings. When I tried to contact the company, they were not any help. I also had bad latency problems with this mic. I sent it back to Amazon because I thought it was defective, and ordered a second one thinking this would solve the problem. It did not.

The Hypemic is much smaller than most podcast mics, so you don't need a huge arm to hold it in front of you. I used a Blue Yeti for years, and the quality was okay for a few years ago, but not up to date. I'm really happy with the quality of the sound, which is very adjustable, the ease of use, and mostly, the very small footprint on my desk.

Worth every penny - I'm not aware of any USB mic of comparable quality and features in this price range. Also, support is great - the first one I received was defective, which was quickly confirmed by Apogee support based on a recording sample I provided, and they offered me to help in case Amazon had any issue with replacing it (which they didn't).I would buy it again in a heartbeat - very happy with it.

Fully disclosure. I first purchased the Rode NT-USB condenser Mic and was extremely impressed with the sound quality. However, I had to return it because it had no manual audio gain gauge on it and I discovered that the audio gain would change automatically when recording on Windows 10 and google chrome. So sadly I returned this mic due to that issue and I went with this microphone after reading the reviews. This mic solves the problem of no automatic audio gain as it has a manual knob to control the input sound level. So it solved that problem. Overall, the sound quality is top-notch EXCEPT I have to say I find the dynamic range of the RODE a bit better if I still was able to use it.I'm satisfied with this purchase, but I would invest in a RODE mic if the company would release a USB version with an audio gain control knob that I could control.

One of the wires that connects the mic to the Iphone hasn’t been working and we are unable to get through to the seller and have passed the return window as we opened the box after a couple of weeks. Make sure you test all wires and connectivity immediately on receiving the product or it will be a complete write off of your money like mine. Best to buy these from a known seller rather than an unknown online seller. It is too expensive an item to risk getting a defective piece.

First of all, I would like to say that it matches my MacBook I have :) I haven't used my new mic as of today; however, I had an old version of this mic and I know the quality of it. I am really excited to get started on vocals using this mic. I really like the fact that it is small and compact but delivers a great huge sound for what I need. I know I made the right choice in purchasing this mic for my specific needs. Excited!!!!!—————————Updated review: I have used it in Logic Pro X to record by vocals!!! Yess!!!! I love it.. it has Vo press ion built in so using an interface is really not necessary. Excellent quality mic for singers/ vocals… home studio … you will definitely be impressed!!!!

Apogee is known for making solid products. This latest mic is beautifully made and they provide it with a great little case, with almost everything you'll need to make great recordings. I use it for voice-over, especially when I need portability. It is one of the few quality condenser mics that can plug directly into the iPad and work without external power. I tried a larger Marshall USB mic and it required a powered camera adapter -- that can be a pain, if you're trying to record where an outlet is not easily available. The mic itself has some nifty features, like the (almost) zero-latency headphone jack with adjustable mix b/w headphones and playback, a fairly easy-to-use gain setting dial, and it's much-bragged-about built-in compression. That feature is much more important for broadcast/podcast use. For voice-over, many clients want to be able to go back to raw signal and hardware compression means the "original" signal has been messed with on input. But, for a recent promo-style VO, the lowest compression setting worked well for me, and it's easy enough to turn off.The mic quality itself is really pretty darned good. It's good enough for professional work. I haven't compared it to my highest-end mics, but it did the job.One thing it's missing -- that Apogee doesn't provide with any of its mics -- is a shock mount. They provide a tripod with a ball mount (very adjustable and solid), but you can easily get low-end rumble transmitted from mic handling or vibration of a table or floor. I did experiment, and the Rycote InVision USM-L (or USM) can be used, so there is a viable option. But that's another ~$70. Overall (and because I already have the Rycote), I've found it to be a valuable mic to have and I'm glad I bought it. It's not cheap, but it's high-quality & sometimes you get what you pay for.

I travel a lot on business and find myself in hotel rooms creating videos for work. This is an absolutely excellent mic for these situations. It's not as good as my main go-to (a $3000 Neumann U87), but that's to be expected. It sound excellent regardless... and the portability is superb. It comes with a great travel case that includes the mic, a tripod, and three cables (one mini USB to USB-C, one mini USB to USB-A, and one mini USB to Lightning), a pop filter, a little hex wrench for the tripod (not sure if I'll ever use this, but I keep it in the case regardless) and a nice, lamented user guide to remind you of what those buttons do. 🙂If you're on the road a lot and need a good mic for voiceovers and/or podcasts, this is the mic to get.
