This jacket is very nice. If you want to add a few layers underneath for more warmth, order one size up. Being 100% wool, there is no stretch. All in all, very satisfied with this jacket!

I have used Arcturus wool products before and I have been overall very pleased with their blankets. When I came across this Arcturus 100% virgin wool anorak, I had to give it a try.I am 5’11” and 201lbs, 35”-36” waist, and a 45” chest. I ordered size Large and the sizing was perfect for an external layer. The Large offers plenty of room for layering comfortably without feeling overly baggy. The sewing and craftsmanship is exceptional and the wool weave is tight and tidy. This is an exceptionally well made garment with excellent hem work. The sleeve length is perfect and falls between the first and second knuckles on my thumbs—exactly how I want an anorak sleeve to fit.The wind collar is generously high to completely shield your neck and even your chin if needed. The collar also buttons/unbuttons along one side from inside the anorak if you wish to tuck the collar for more airflow. The collar also cinches with a very nice cord woven through quality metal rivets.The hood is generously sized to allow for wearing a had and to shield your face from the elements. I’m glad they provided the oversized hood and built this with the outdoorsman in mind to allow for added comfort for when wearing the hood with or without a hat. The hood also allows for cinching.I actually like the fit and tailoring of this anorak better than my $300 90% wool anorak from another well-known company. This Arcturus wool is also every bit as thick! For the price, this anorak is a solid deal if you like wool products. You simply cannot beat getting 100% virgin wool anorak at 650GSM for the price. And because this wool is nice and thick, this anorak has a very nice weight and feel, and is comfortable and warm.Unlike some wool products, this anorak did not smell strong and unpleasant (at least not to me). It just smelled like wool and I didn’t have to air it out for a couple of days like I have had to do with some wool blankets.As far as my minor gripes (emphasis on very minor gripes) this wool is not quite soft as my other anorak, but it also isn’t overly scratchy and firm either. It will also relax a bit over use, but even brand new, I didn’t find this anorak unpleasant and uncomfortable to wear.I would have also loved if this anorak would have had a sewn-in cinch at the bottom hem to gather the fabric for a tighter fit around the waist and butt as needed. My other anorak has a cinch and it’s nice to pull in the fabric when layering with less bulk.As far as warmth, I went outside at 15 degrees Fahrenheit, and it provided great warmth as an external layer over my base layer merino. The tight weave and thickness provided and excellent barrier against the cold and mild wind. Again, worked every bit as good as my $300 anorak.I also love the dark charcoal color. My other anorak is OD green, which I love, but having a darker color to alternate with will be great.I’m thrilled to have found this anorak in stock and for less than $100.00. Solid bargain! Looks like prices have climbed up a bit, but even at the going price you’ll be hard pressed to find a 100% virgin wool anorak of this caliber and quality anywhere else. Thank you, Arcturus!!!

I got one of these for a friend who is seriously into camping and he was beyond excited to receive it. Unfortunately there was no size chart available when I ordered, so he is absolutely swimming in the one I got him. He also informed me that grommets/toggles were already falling off, which is completely unacceptable for a piece of clothing that costs this much, and is supposed to be for serious outdoor wear. This was a major disappointment to say the least.
