Its a simple part that is hard to screw up. Still, there are a couple of flaws.1) The three grub screws do not have non-marring tips (they're too small for that,) so anything you install these on runs the risk of getting marred/scratched by the grub screws.2) The included hex-wrench to tighten the grub screws is cheap and slips inside the grub screw.

These are a fantastic accessory to parfocalize your telescope eyepieces so you don't have to re-focus when you swap various brands/types. They are low-profile, precisely machined, and stay securely put with three lock screws. The only way they could be improved is with non-marring delrin tipped screws, but that would significantly increase the price. They are a best-but as is.

The damages have been done and I’m crying about it. I ended up scratching both my XWA eyepieces. My poor 20mm and 7mm!!!Do I recommend it? Absolutely not!!!The set screws are spaced at 90 degree from each other and is only two. It does not hold its position very well and can never sit perfectly straight.Did I forget to mention that the set screws scratch your barrel? You’re better off with using o-ring. Stack enough and you’ll be fine. Take it from my experience and stay clear unless you find them with 3 set screws spaced at 120 degrees from each other

yikes. this really digs in. It does what it's supposed to, and holds firm.

Rings seem very well made. I used one to fix the distance my guide camera slides into my off-axis guider to make sure everything focuses properly.

Bought these to use with 2” star diagonals that were sitting just a little too far into the telescope focuser and the retention ring/screws were seating right on the edge of the diagonal’s safety cutout. This led to the diagonal loosening in the focuser and rotating when it should have been tight. I haven’t used them to make eyepieces parfocal yet, but I’d imagine they would work fine for that.

If you are someone like me who disassembled telescope after each viewing having one of these rings to lock the camera position means I can quickly find focus on the guide scope.

I needed a 2-inch parfocal ring for my homemade 4.5-inch astrograph. These are hard to find, but Astromania had them.I used it to prevent a 2-inch coma corrector from falling into the telescope, which has happened before, and it works great.

I used these to make some eyepieces parafocal to my webcams and CCD. Made a world of difference in time spent focusing. These are aluminum and I am happy with the quality and function.
