These controllers feel great , and are well built. At $27 they're a steal.

It’s an okay feeling controller. Nothing to write home about. USB-C charging would have been nicer but it’s lacking here. I would not recommend this if you do not have an Atari VCS unit as that’s the only way to update the controller’s firmware. Unless you want to take a long and ridiculous route of converting a pc by reimagining it to be an Atari VCS.

There are comments in other forums outside Amazon. The joystick does work on a Mac wired but your choice of Emulator software is important. It worked poorly with Atari800MacX. If you are up for a 2600 emulator, I noted that those are better by others’ reviews. It is natively for the 2600 solution sold by this company. Perhaps the programmers of the 8bit emulator for Mac will modify their drivers. Other than that, it is a cool joystick. Not classic but cool. I was bummed.

Definitely brings back memories of the original Atari controllers. I was a little disappointed in how the rotary function worked, it seemed too sensitive and not as smooth as it might have been, but overall I'd say it's not too bad.

This controller feels alike old version. Designed for Atari VCS 800 console / PC hybrid. Not for 2600+ or 7800+.

Great joystick based on the classic Atari 2600. Best used with Atari emulator Stella. Just remember to clear the joystick mapping settings in Stella first before mapping the joystick. I personally find the turning control on the stick to play paddle games is not good. Hyperkin or other companys need to create a real Atari 2600 style paddle controller with usb connection.Pros: works great with Atari emulator StellaDesign and led orange ring effect is nice.Cons: Twisting joystick to play Atari 2600 paddle games, Tempest on Mame emulator is poor.

If you want to play Atari games on emulators, this Bluetooth controller is the way to go.Is it expensive compared to an Xbox controller? Sure. But the production quantities are tiny in comparison. If an Xbox controller will make you happy, save a few bucks and get that. If you're buying with your heart - you already know you're going to buy thisIf you need more buttons to operate your emulator's operating system - use an additional controller for those functions. You'll want one for other retro systems anyway. This is not a 'one and done' controller.

It should have additional buttons. It’s very hard to make this work with an emulator like retro arch because there simply are not enough buttons for you to navigate menus and stuff.
