Many times, people think any thread will do, because it is all the same. This is far from the truth. Not only does thread quality affect your finished product, it also affects your sewing experience.Different brands of machines seem to have their own thread preferences. There are some that just do not work with my Brother sewing machine. All they do is fray, snap or tangle (and tension has nothing to do with performance in this case). It makes sewing stressful instead of fun.After much trial and error with at least eight brands of thread, I have found that my Brother machine LOVES Aurifil thread. It runs like a charm, no snapping or tangling, no stress! While it is a bit pricey, it has been worth it. I don't have any hesitation in recommending Aurifil thread. And they have a very large color collection - you'll be able to find just what you need for your projects.

I have several sewing machines, two of which are longarms. I have never had a problem with the thread shredding or breaking. It is low on lint and the colors are wonderful. All the machines seem to like it.
