Shredded flaking applications are rather messy but a stiff stippling brush and a small flake tray underneath makes for speedy work. Here the deep copper flakes against navy blue chalk paint just pop. I used flake glue/ glitter glue that dries hard fast so quick application is a must. Brush off excess into the tray below and buff with a microfibre cloth and seal with poly to prevent tarnishing over time.

I used these to copper leaf the tailpiece of my mandolin so far, not sure I'd recommend doing that honestly lol, but it did stick and turn out well.The little shreds had a fair bit of variety in the amount of oxidation, not a ton, but also not all uniform. I think it adds to the affect, though, so I'd recommend them.Pretty fun to work with, too! Aside from the airborne copper, which you should probably wear a mask for.Also pretty densely packed in the package, if you're worried about that. Not so dense that they're all in a big wad, either, but it feels like a good amount for the price.

I ordered this to redo two large picture frames but the gold leaves were so light in weight that the slightest wind would blow them all over the place. The brilliance is very rich and the quantity for the cost is pretty hefty. There so much of it, I'll have enough to use to refinish items/projects.

These are great. They are not too “foily” looking, like other brands I have bought, and are very thin and delicate. Also, there the container is a decent size. Great deal!

I love this stuff. It can be a pain to work with after hours of painting and gilding, but the result is worth it. I love the color variation. I was able to pick out certain colors/shades when needed. And, I really like the depth/textured look that the peices give as opposed to sheets.

I am redoing a piece of furniture and couldn't find "gold leaf flakes". I found this product and it is perfect for what I am doing. Some of the flake (very few) dont have the gold on the flake and I had to remove those flakes from the furniture. Other than that it arrived on time and very good.

This is a lot of gold leaf for the price and I like that it came in a jar - that definitely felt like it helped with the inevitable mess of using gold flake. What I didn’t love was the color. This is verrigated gold and it’s very copper, brown, rosy gold - there is little to no actual true gold color flake in this jar. I wound up ordering true gold flake from another vendor as the coloring of this didn’t suit my project.
