The boys at baseball practice love this. They use it for motivation. It was simple to set up and reads the speed with great accuracy. Very functional and great for the price.

The good:1. It works. Reads speed of balls with apparent accuracy.2. Easy to read- large screen with red letters. A bit hard to make out in bright sunlight, but does the job.3. It's fun.Problems, real and potential:1. Narrow angle. The instructions caution that it's most accurate when in line with the ball's path. That is of course true, but we found that reading often did not occur if off by more than a few degrees.2. Longevity. The device itself is sturdy and well constructed, but the included tripod, not absolutely required but very helpful, seems a bit flimsy. Will see how long it holds up.Overall, a good entry-level radar gun at a good price.

Incredibly accurate, with both LED and LCD displays that make tracking pitch speeds easy and clear. Whether handheld or mounted on the included tripod, it’s a must-have for serious training and getting precise speed data for players of all levels!

Fun radar gun. My son and I are having fun with this to see how fast his pitching is. I may also use it to slow down traffic in my neighborhood. Its easy to use, its a good size and is priced well. It seems to read quickly and as far as I can tell it is accurate. The only drawback is the need for 6 AA batteries.

This product is a great training tool. If you have a pitcher in the house or are a coach, this product can provide you valuable measurement data. The tripod that attaches to the speed sensor is at the perfect height for pitching. It really sits in the strike zone for most batters. The product appears to be accurate. The product has a nice large display that can be flipped out so the pitcher can reader their speed with each pitch. This provide instant feedback and somewhat of a challenge to throw harder. For this product to work well, it needs to be pretty close to the action. Basically, right in the other side of the batters box. This doesn't make a great tool to take to the softball games to measure other pitchers speeds. It kind of large and bulky. The product takes 6 AA batteries, and the design was relatively poor. If the sensor is held upright, the batteries will just spill out. They do not fit snug onto the connectors. You must lay this product flat to get the batteries to stay in. Then you can put the cover on.In the realm of speed testing, there really isn't a product under $300. I am actually pretty excited about this product cosidering its much lower price. Its a good tool to have without breaking the bank. If you need casual speed measurements for training, I highly recommend giving this product a try.

If you're considering buying this radar, I wouldn't recommend it for people who throw over 80 mph. It's unreliable in those cases. I purchased it, and as a pitcher with an average speed of 88 mph, I noticed it’s not consistent. Sometimes it gives incorrect readings, like 98 mph, which is not accurate because I tested it alongside other, more reliable radars.
