This was easy to install on my boat and it's pretty much idiot proof the battery is either on or it's off.

I received this switch in excellent condition.First impressions are that this switch is very well built. The plastic body, when mounted to a solid mounting surface, should provide a long lasting installation. The switch mechanism has a very good feel to it. When the switch reaches an end (on or off) of its rotation there's a very positive click. It feels as though there is a spring loaded mechanism that snaps the contacts into their final open or closed position. (The switch rotates through 90 degrees from open to closed.)The wire binding posts are indeed 3/8" diameter and are solidly attached to the rest of the switch body. I believe it would be easy to connect a 10 gauge, and probably even an 8 gauge wire, to these posts. Removal of the bottom of the switch reveals a provision for removing a section of any of the four sides of the switch body. This allows for passage of a wire into the wire connecting area of the switch while still keeping the other three sides of the switch body closed. I've attached a pic showing one of the removable pieces.I'll be using this switch along with an in-line 30 amp breaker between a 48 volt 30 Ah battery and my 3HP 48 volt ePropulsion outboard. That way I can make all of the connections in the circuit and then apply the power to the motor controls using this switch. While I haven't tested this setup yet, I fully expect everything will work. Having the switch in the circuit adds a degree of safety that I want and like.
