This is truly a universal back piece. I had bought other brands thst had claimed to be but weren't this one is. It is true to size. It isn't super heavy so he doesn't notice the extra piece. Great value for my money. I feel it give him the extra protection he needs playing football.

Great product other than the screws that attach to the shoulder pads back out frequently and get lost. Son played one game, now looking for other ways to attach other than zip ties. Buy extras

I purchased the youth size for my 10 year old and fits him perfect. It has several holes on the straps so it is very easy to install in different shoulder pads with the included hardware. My son says he doesn't even feel like it's there which means it's not bulky or uncomfortable. I definitely recommend to protect your players lower back. I would definitely buy again.
