both the white front and rear red 2-led lamps are quite visible from a distance when flashing; very noticeable. secured installation is via concealed machine hex head screws. white lamp is not much good for forward illumination as it is more suited for flashing, oncoming collision avoidance. rear lamp mounted on the recumbent trike head rest for highest and best visibility employing additional (not supplied) neoprene bushing for small diameter head rest support bar.

This is the second time I've purchased these lights. Battery acid leaked out of our first one after less than a year, which was disappointing, but who knows why that happened. So on to #2 and so far, so good. These are perfect for finding your way home in the dark! I've also seen the rear light used by more "professional" bicyclists around our town when they ride on the road - so as a motorist, I can appreciate their effectiveness! But for what we use these for personal - again, just getting home in the dark - they're perfect. Easy to install and activate with one touch.

Lights are very dim. Rear light is just brought enough to be barely visible. Front one is completely useless.

It is possible to install this light without damaging the plastic! But as the other reviews have mentioned, a coin is not going to cut it.The housing is assembled with plastic snaps. You just have to get a thin screwdriver or other multi-tool all the way underneath to carefully pry it apart at the proper angle. As shown in my photos, there's a rubber gasket between the black housing and the red/clear cover. Wiggle your tool past the gasket so it gets under the cover, THEN lever it out.As you can see, the reflector can come out, but it doesn't need to. Once the cover is off, you have to do more screwdriver gymnastics to get the battery assembly out. Don't pull on the circuit board from above! You want to pull the gasket back, and work your tool around the thin gap between the black housing and the (also) black battery assembly until you can pry it out as well.As for reports of the cover repeatedly falling off, I suspect it has to do with properly replacing it. I found that the cover seemed to snap on, but upon further inspection it required a considerable amount of pressure for the bottom two corners to go the last few millimeters and click in quite firmly.Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the quality of the product at the price point. The security feature is a great product concept, just poorly executed when it comes to ease of installation. Come on, Bell! You're so close here. I literally only figured this out because I design products for a living.

These are excellent lights. I have a Rad City e-bike and ride only in the day time. I like a very bright light front and back because I want to be seen. These two lights do the trick nicely. Plus I favor having batteries rather than having to hook up cables to recharge them, but that's a personal choice. They are well constructed with a security feature to keep them from being stolen. Someone tries to take the lights the front lenses will come off and be useless to them, but you probably have to buy new lights so not sure what to make of that. Decent price though so it won't break you if you have to replace them.

Good quality. Bright lights. Easy to install. Great price. So far they have not been stolen. Fingers crossed. If they do get stolen I would repurchase these.

Ya tenia el mismo modelo de luces pero necesitaba otro par y son excelentes buena iluminacion delantera y trasera facil de instalar y usar. Solo que al ser nuevas se batalla al abrir para poner las pilas por los clip que traen.

I bought these to eliminate the problem of headlights being stolen off my bike. I also bought an set of rechargeable AAA batteries at the same time, so the whole system--bike light mounting and rechargeable batteries--works very well. These are simple lights and make me conspicuous in urban riding at night.

The screws have to come all the way out to install. If the were torx or Philip I could have used a drill and made it much faster. I do not have Allen bit for my drill. Other than that they fit well and are very bright.

I live in an urban area. I've had countless headlights and taillights stolen in the past. The future is now. These lights are so awesome! I just installed them and the quality was better than expected. There are two bolts holding each light in place. The bolts are an inch long so there is plenty of room for various mount locations and extra torque when fastening. My only concern is finding replacement parts if the Thief turns Vandal. The price is great though if I do need to repurchase a set in the future.

I suggest you consider a different light. I ordered two sets of these. One for myself and one for my girlfriend. The size of the light makes them a little hard to place the headlight on handlebars of multi-speed bikes with shifters, brakes, etc. But that's not why i give this a bad review. Our problems are all with the headlight. My girlfriend rides at night more than me and her headlight went dead in two or three days. I blamed the cheap batteries and replaced them with energizers but it went dead again in a week even though the batteries still tested as good. I tried everything but the lamp was toast. Strange because they use LED's. She bought a different brand of light and has been happy with that.I finally got around to attaching mine to my mountain bike and was careful to use good Duracell batteries. The headlight worked for three rides with about 60 total minutes of on-time, then started randomly shutting off when i would hit a bump. I removed the light, tested then re-seated the batteries. It worked for one more ride, then the next time i went to turn it on the light flashed once, then went dead. I could not get it to work again regardless of changing the batteries. Strangely, both tail light units still work fine. I was very surprised because my previous Bell brand lights worked as expected.Overall, seems to have a high failure rate.
