With battery disconnect switches you sometimes need very heavy cabling. I used 4/0 and this style of switch made the job so easy. You mount the base to the wall, then place the terminals onto the base and the switching mechanism fits over the entire backing plate and terminals. To me it's the best looking battery switch too.

I used this as a cut-off switch for the house batteries in my motorhome. I really liked that it can be mounted and then wired from the front which gives far greater control over the wire position in the process. And the control knob and cover can be placed in any of 4 positions after the wiring is done. I see that someone criticized the quarter turn mounting locks for the switch cover/knob. But I think it is plenty sturdy. If I replace any other cut-off switches I will use one of these switches.

Works fine. Don't like the quarter turn fasteners that hold it in place.
