It's a basic Mokka pot, no problems there. But the red finish has begun to peel off after 9 months of use. It's used 4 times a day at the most and has always been hand washed. My dialogue with Bialetti was a failure mostly due to my inability to speak Italian and their inability to speak English. Stay with the plain aluminum pot.

This coffee pot comes in many sizes. "6 cups" is the absolute minimum size this should be sold in. The "6 cup" size, filled to capacity, makes ONE normal sized cup of coffee. The coffee is good and the process is quick and easy. It just isn't practical if you want more than one cup of coffee. It is easy to burn yourself in 2 ways: when the coffee is ready, it starts bubbling and burping out the top. It is also easy to put too fast so that coffee leaks out of the lid. I'm probably only having these problems because I use every bit of it's tiny capacity.

This is one cool little espresso/coffee maker.Simple, reliable, good looking, well made... makes essentially sludge free coffee without a paper filter, and it's sooo much better that the drip filter I was using. Easy and quick to clean, too.The coffee this makes is delicious, although if you're an espresso perfectionist this won't give you the crema.Doesn't matter to me, though. I put 3 tbsp of medium espresso grind in the basket, and get a full cup of super-strength coffee that is perfect for my tastes.I once read that the Turks have a favorite expression regarding how coffee should be: "Black as hell, strong as death, and sweet as love".That's how I make my coffee with this little pot.

Simple efficient design, the water goes into the lower unit. spoon the coffee into an intermediate bowl and screw on the top which seals the top to the intermediate coffee bowl t the bottom. place on the stove (I have gas so I use low heat). The heat boils the water and pressurizes the lower unit which forces the pressurized hot water through the coffee in the intermediate bowl up into the top. in a couple minutes, you have 6 espresso's. easy to use, and the espresso is as good as my old unit.. My old unit was $300+ and the pump/heater/steam wand had all failed.

This is great for making espresso drinks (as long as you're not a purist - moka is technically not espresso, but it's close enough, particularly if you're using it for lattes or cappuccinos at home). It is much less expensive and easier to use than espresso machines, which require a lot of handling, care and cleaning. I'm very glad I made the switch to this. The only thing is that you have to experiment with your particular stove to find the right temperature that will cause the coffee to run out the top spout smoothly instead of shooting or sputtering out. This takes some trial and error and usually less heat is the way to go. While you can make six servings with this, you can also make less by putting in less water and less coffee grounds but keeping everything else the same. Overall I'm a happy customer - easy to use, easy to clean, easy on the wallet (the device is cheap and you skip coffee shops).

Works a treat, looks good too! Some of the new fashionable Bialetti's don't work as well as the old favourite..

I went for the "Original Brand" as I am a stickler for quality. However I was very disappointed with the product. The gasket looks like it is made up of poor quality rubber. It was very hard and absolutely inelastic. At such a high price and brand nothing but the best silicone ring is expected. Nevertheless I hoped it to work all right but alas. Steam and water leaked from the very beginning (see accompanying photographs). And no, its not a case of improper use, i.e. not tightening fully. Almost half the water used to be lost via the leakage. It was so pathetic that I decided to return it. Full marks to Amazon and cart2india for promptly processing the refund. Now I use Indian made (Atlas) 6 cup device which works perfectly. It costs one fifth the money and has a high quality silicone gasket.

I was sitting at a cafe having breakfast and ordered a Cuban Coffee, which was delivered to me in a Moka pot. I was on vacation and decided I needed one of these at home, so I jumped onto Amazon and searched for a Moka pot. There are a lot to choose from, from very cheap to very expensive, so I wasn't sure which one to buy. I read reviews and settled on this Bialetti Moka pot, and am glad I did. I have used it every day and it produces ridiculously delicious coffee. Before making coffee for the first time with my Bialetti, I read the directions of how to use it (it's very important to do so) and how to clean it. Basically, don't overfill the coffee grinds, and tighten it before putting it on the heat source, and you are good to go. And after you are done, never put it in the dishwasher. Just clean gently with soap in the sink and leave to dry on a towel. Super easy.I haven't tried all the Moka pots out there, but I chose the Bialetti as it was described as being sturdy (rather than made from flimsy materials). 50 uses later (yes, I make that many little pots of this delicious stuff) and it's working just as well as the first time I used it.Buy it. You will love it!!!

Could not be happier with this! I was looking into getting an espresso maker, but honestly too afraid to plunk out that much money for something when all I had used prior was a regular drip coffee maker. Just a word of advice, make sure to turn it closed COMPLETELY or it will steam and drip out while being made. Just a hassle, won't affect your coffee.I read tons of reviews about this, and am so pleased with it. I followed them, cook the coffee at medium setting. It takes about 10/15mins but is SO worth it. You can use cheap coffee, and still have a delicious cup when made like this.We use Lavazza Crema (not cheap, but AMAZING) grind it fresh, and then make it slow. You don't even need cream if you don't want, this combination has us feeling pampered every morning.Super easy to clean, just wash with water and let dry. Such a good steal, I have been raving about it to everyone I know for the past few months. We make every guest at our home coffee with it to prove how amazing it is!
