I saw a You Tube video that claimed that the center section of the Mule Deer was made with soft foam that consistently healed for season after season. The one I received was made with the same hard, stiff foam for all three sections. The Standing Bear, Den Bear and Skunk I purchased from this company are made with the best quality foam I've ever encountered ( I own 47 3d targets from all the major manufacturers). I suspect they are cutting costs with lower quality, cheaper foam. On the positive side, it is a very large deer. 50" tall at the ears, 37" at the shoulders and very thick side to side. P.S. don't purchase their Bobcat. It's very thin and arrows knock chunks out of the opposite side as they pass through.
