I purchased the one with the quick release. Easy install and the motor is powerful...trolls my 19 foot aluminum boat with with no issues. Remote is awesome. Just be aware that this motor works with several adjustments when turning. In other words, when you click left, it moves a pre-determined amount. There is no fine adjustments. So when trolling, expect to readjust frequently. However, with the remote, this is easily accomplished. For the $, it's hard to beat!

With the correct battery, correct wiring, simply did not work. Trolling motor worked fine in the initial installation. Took it to the water and it completely went haywire. Could not get it to stay running with remote or the foot controller.

After looking around a ton, this one stuck out to be a nice value. The parts feel quality, the wires are thick and the trolling motor is responsive.Be wary that the Mount does hang over the boat on the Bow. Some previous mounts for other motors are further back. This one over hangs the bow about 5 inches. Watch some videos on the install.Since it does hang over so far, the install could be affected by the minimal space between the top of the bow and the Hull coming together. I imagine this is being installed on a smaller bass Boat (sub 18 feet). You do need to get inside the Bow/Hull space to get the Nuts on the bolts. You might be able to install using screws if the top of the bow is reinforced, but, the unit is pretty heavy and you would need to buy different stainless steel hardware.Once the install was complete on the mount, I moved to the motor. All the items on the motor were easy to install. Directions a bit lacking. I seemed to be missing a "hard plastic spacer" that is located inside the motor. Upon watching videos, I found a similar piece to fill the spot.I have contacted customer support, and awaiting a response (been 2 business days now).****No reply yet from Customer service on the website. 9 days. The foot pad works greatThe remote was very responsive (be sure to charge this while doing the install, so it is ready - USB rechargeable)I am looking forward to using the motor, and will provide updates.

Let me highlight the things I noticed. 1 - THIS IS MY #1 LARGEST ISSUE I have a bit of over-steer with the remote I can't really say about the foot pedal yet as I only used it a little. I find myself hitting right then left then right again several times to attempt to get it to center better so the boat tracks strait. I have not seen a solution to this. Would seem like some kind of micro adjustment should be available to drop the turn speed or cut the distance it travels per button press.I tested with a compass and found each button press rotates the head 15 degrees. Half that would be more ideal. 2 - When I ordered this I was under impression it was the GPS model, it was not until it was shipped I realized there were several models with the same name. It was not clear they had several different models being called CAYMAN. 3 - One of the threads on a bolt cross threaded as I was installing the quick release base. It was not a huge thing but to get a new piece of equipment and have poor threads makes you realize how they are saving money. I had to drill it and use a bolt on bottom of the mounting bracket. 4 - The quick release bracket requires nothing to the side of the trolling motor to get the long handle release pin out. Which happens to be that I have a light and anchor in the way. So for me to remove this I will have to unscrew my light each time the way I have it mounted currently. Yes I could move it, but how many holes Should you drill in your boat. 5 - It will continue to spin around and around in any direction. Would be much better if it indexed only 360 degrees, I mean you could in theory wind the cord right off it if you were not paying attention or letting someone use it that was under influence or a bit naive. 6 - There is no on/off switch that shuts it down. The lights on the motor stay lit unless you unplug it, how long before this will drain your battery? I held the power button hoping it would go into sleep but nothing. 7 - Power cords are a bit short who is going to have the battery in the front of the boat to wire it direct to battery with 5 foot power cord, I use a MinnKota plug kit I bought at Walmart, so this wasn't a huge deal it just isn't noted anywhere that the cables are so short. This unit seems to work great for the cost over all. Power is good, battery lasts a good while. Super easy to mount and install. The ability to troll while sitting at my console and see the rods in the holders while watching the side scan will be so nice.

Item arrived quicker than expected, had a small hole in the box but no damage to the unit. It was really simple to install. Have not used on the water yet, installed on boat couple days ago. Everything seems good, only thing is it seems a little noise when motor turns. maybe slightly less noise from head if used in water. will find out this weekend.
