I am blown away by this jar. That is not an understatement. When I ordered it, I wasn't expecting it to be very large, even though the listing says it's 12x6. It doesn't convey how large the jar really is. It's a little over 12 inches tall and 6 inches wide and very heavy. It's definitely not a flimsy piece. The artistry of the jar is elegant and charming, and looks much more expensive than the actual price tag. The whole jar has an authentic feel to it, and it looks wonderful on my mantel. I'd originally gotten it to put flowers in as a vase, but I feel like that detracts from how pretty it is. The lid is part of the whole look, and I really feel like it needs to be with the jar. However, this would make a lovely vase, if that's what you're looking for.My one complaint is that the lid doesn't sit well on the top. It slides around a bit, so I do wish it had a bit of a rim to hold the lid. Otherwise, it's gorgeous. It won't be jiggled around where it is, so I don't need to worry about the lid falling off. Honestly, for the price, it couldn't be much better.
