It works in both modes. Be patient connecting the headphones in transmitter mode. Has latency but it's ok you won't notice it. Worthy to buy it

This Bluetooth transmitter is a must for anyone traveling on the airlines. It is easy to sync and allows you to use your personal earbuds to listen to music, watch movies, etc., without the bulky headsets the airlines provide.

Brought 2 of these to link TX on my guitar amp to RX on my headphones. The latency (delay from one device to another) was way too high for my need. Connection to devices was simple and worked with every device I tried. Sound quality was better than expected. These are well built and nicely packaged for the price. If you want to connect your phone to a speaker for music, these are more than adequate.

This small device is great for travel having the capability to both receive and transmit audio by Bluetooth. I was surprised by how lightweight the device is. It took me a bit to really figure out how to use the device but luckily the included instruction manual is well written having numbered steps.Receiving works well and is a similar to other wireless headphones I have used. Transmitting is also somewhat similar but just a tad trickier as usually you would have a screen of some sort to pick the device you want to connect to. Once putting the device you want to connect to this product in pairing mode it connects without any trouble and is indicated by the light going from a rapid flashing to more of a pulse.Audio quality seems very high also with very little if no lag keeping the audio in sync if watching a movie or playing a game. Mainly I did get this for travel and I think it will be great to send audio to a rental car stereo and also transmit audio from some of the older TVs some hotels have to wireless headphones.
