With smooth switching action, this offers an easy way to isolate, connect, or disconnect multiple batteries in a DC system.I installed this in a wheelhouse battery system, where the batteries are kept charged by a constavolt with separate leads to each of 2 batteries. This allows me to keep one battery in reserve to operate radios and electronics should power or charging be lost to one bank.Screws are included with this switch, but some may find them too short as they only protrude about 1/2" through the back of the switch. After installing the battery cables to the clearly labeled lugs in the back of this switch, I secured the heavy cables to the wall, which helps take any load off these switch mounting screws. It's not a switch which I expect to operate frequently, so shouldn't be an issue. The M12 lugs on the back are a somewhat odd size, but accept 1/2" ring terminals. With a continuous current rating of 500A, this puts it ahead of similar and higher priced units which are only rated at 350A. I'm not starting an engine or expecting to use them for 1/10th that amperage, but it's nice to think that it's robust and heavy duty. This switch is a valid alternative to more common and expensive brands, and is serving its purpose for me well.

I recently installed another battery in my powerboat, both as backup and to run the trolling motor when required. I changed out the single power on/off switch with this one. This way, I can switch from one battery to the other, or have them both powered up at the same time. Also, when the boat is not in use, I can still turn off master power. They say in the write-up that this is "exquisitely" made, lol. Not sure about that. I will say it's rugged, large, and easy to use.
