So far, the wheel is good, but the splash pan is a nightmare. It does not fit together well if at all and is so hard to snap together under the wheel. I have trimmed and thrown, and the wheel is working well. The bats included with the wheel are not very effective. The inside square bat is too loose and moves too much when trying to throw. If I am coning, it pops right out of the large bat.I put each leg up on 2 paving stones and that made it tall enough to use with a standard height chair. It is very stable. The shelf is very useful. I like having the extra workspace up a little higher than the wheel. It makes it easy to grab tools.I have been doing pottery for a few years now and love working at a community studio, but I often wanted to play with clay when the studio was closed, or I just didn't feel like going to the studio at the end of a long workday. This wheel has given me the opportunity to explore more of my hobby at my own pace. I have been enjoying it so far without a large investment. The largest amount of clay I have thrown is 5lbs and the wheel managed it just fine.I think I would have ranked it higher if not for the splash pan. That thing is not great and makes me dread trying to put it together. It should snap together from what I can tell, but it doesn't, so the pan leaks.

The construction of this wheel is decent. No complaints there. The biggest issue is the wheel head doesn’t spin evenly which it makes it hard to center the clay and evenly shape it.
