I am a medical coder and have two similar book stands for doing my job. They are great to move around as I need them and push out of the way when I don’t - all while freeing my desk space for other things. I got this for my daughter who just started his pathology classes and is overwhelmed with a lot of books, just like I am. She is loving it, too.

This is a very nice book stand. It is sturdy and able to hold a decent size book. It was super easy as it was already pre assembled when it arrived. It is a bit heavy due to the metal plating that supports the book.

I got this to use on a slanted (read: no surfaces parallel to the ground) drafting table to use for reference material while drawing. Sometimes this a book, more often it's an iPad. I attached it to the top of the table.Here's the good- Clamp is cushioned so it won't mar surfaces- Clamp has an easy hand turnable handle to tighten, and you can get it quite tightIt comes with Allen wrenches for tightening or losing the bolts that stabilize it in different positions and provide resistance- It's pretty stable in most reasonable positions- It has different tilt options for the acrylic surface- It has non-marring prongs to hold a book open- Solid feeling metal construction- Seems to mostly work well in some positions with 12.9" iPadCould be better- There's a direction I'd like the head to tilt that it doesn't tilt in- It is not tight enough to stay stable with an iPad on the side of slanted table, but that's a weird use case for most people
