Had to drill but that was not my problem it when installing the shaft stick out fom back more than it should so I had to work by grinding down and adjusting the hole with all the said use j&B weld to keep everything sturdy i got nice and smooth kob on my reel but if you don't know what your doing your better off buying made already and it will fit other tapes of reels just need to do the drilling and adjustments

I added this to a Shimano Stradic 3000 for inshore fishing. It works really well to add a little leverage and power when fighting a big redfish or striper. Easy to install, looks great and works well. Adding a power knob is a big improvement for a fishing tell. Definitely helps to land bigger fish. It is light weight and looks nice. Very happy with this.

If you have a BG Reel you must Drill off the handle and purchase a new knob shaft.Shame on BOOMS for misleading customers !!!!You are just better off to purchase a GOMEXUS power handle :-)
