Very easy to install. I didn't realize how bad my other one was until I installed the new one. Water flow to the shower increased and noise level went down.

This spout set fits a 3/4 inch pipe and comes with adapters to fit 1/2 inch also. It is very well made, heavy metal and looks great! We ordered a second because we had such a hard time finding one to fit a 3/4 inch pipe. I am very happy with it and I recommend it highly.

Did not fit my pipe but it is good product. Delta and home builder are hard to match up sometimes. But this spout is well made.

The diverter tub spout has a very nice chrome finish and several different ways to attach to the water supply but what it lacks is either good quality control or lack of protective shipping. The first one I ordered didn't have any threads on the rod you pull to divert the water so did a return and opted to try another spout. The second one arrived and once again the diverter rod was broken of in the knob of the diverter spout except this time I was only allowed to return it and not get an exchange as I don't think the third time was going to be any better.

There's a dizzying number of tub spouts on Amazon. I made the mistake of buying a random one many years ago from one of those no-name brands. That spout today is corroded to the point where the diverter was permanently stuck in the shower position, so anytime we had to fill the tub we had to let the shower run for an hour.I'm not a trained plumber, but I remember installing that one so I figured I'd install this one too. It took me a while to figure out how to get the old spout off, but after some Googling I realized I had a basic threaded spout, so all I had to do was twist it counter-clockwise to take it off and reveal the copper pipe behind it.CalcMetal provides pretty good instructions, unlike other manufacturers that provide no instructions or convoluted ones. They walk you through four different types of installations. Mine was the "1/2 in threaded male pipe connection (short stub out)"The spout comes packaged snugly in bubble wrap, and contains the parts you see in my picture: a adapter, a hex wrench, a plastic an extension nipple, plumber's tape, and the spout itself with the diverter built in. It took me a little while to realize I didn't need the adapter or hex wrench, but it's included for those who do.The first thing that impressed me was the heft of the spout. It's well-built and solid, and I can tell just by looking at it and holding it that it's going to last a long, long time. I've included a photo of the inside of the spout, which is solid brass. The diverter valve is also well-made, and switches from shower to bath smoothly.Installation was a snap. I just put plumber's tape on the thread that connects the diverter to the copper pipe, screw that to the extension nipple, put tape on the thread on the end of that, and screw the spout to the wall.I did hit a bit of a roadblock when my spout wouldn't go flush against the wall. I realized it was because my original one had a wall plate (escutcheon). I ended up keeping the wall plate from my old spout (which wasn't a perfect fit). I wish CalcMetal provided instructions on how to choose a compatible wall plate for those of us who need it, but that's just a minor gripe. Here's what I love the most about this product. It's made in Taiwan. Made in Taiwan means something much different than it did in the 1970s; things made in Taiwan these days are comparable in quality to what you'd find made in Japan, Europe, or the USA. This spout is definitely a top find amid a sea of imitations.UPDATE:I searched on Amazon for a wall plate / cover ring / escutcheon and found a dizzying array of choices, most of which were prohibitively expensive. Then I came across this one which coincidentally also happened to be made in Taiwan.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FI6UCDG?psc=1As you can see in my photo, it fits like a glove. I was about to buy caulk to sloppily fill the areas around the tub spout, but now I have a spout and a cover ring that look even better than the originals I'm replacing, at a fraction of the cost and both with Made in Taiwan quality. Very, very happy with this outcome.

This spout is about double the weight of my previous one and feels very strong and durable. It's definitely "built to last." The directions seemed very fairly straight forward so I decided to try installing myself (this is my first time installing a spout, but I've done some other hardware installs around the house in the past). I've been getting a small amount of leaking in the back when I'm using the diverter, which I'm fairly confident is due to my installation flaws. So if you haven't installed a spout before, you may need a handyman for this job if you want it done perfectly. All in all, it's a very solid product. Oh and I should mention the packaging is just a small little cardboard box, not like the usual packaging you would see at Home Depot for example if that matters to anyone.
