Not the same battery I removed from my portable Briggs and Stratton 8000/10000 watt generator, but this battery fits perfectly, appears OEM updated and can be positioned for proper positive/ negative terminal connections. It even came with new bolts, spacers, and nuts. This battery will work for your Briggs and Stratton Elite Series electric start portable generator. The terminals are actually better on this battery as they face forward. Arrived in correct Briggs and Stratton Box. Ten minute installation. Will update if there are any issues with it.

Battery was installed on a Briggs and Stratton wood chipper. Worked perfectly the first time, then the second time it started and died instantly. Would not restart, tested the battery and it was dead after 5 weeks and only one use.

I highly recommend this exact replacement battery. I first bought this battery in 2017 and it lasted up until 2023. I had to replace it because my solar panel trickle charger failed so the battery was completely depleted. I installed the replacement battery, charged it with my generator's floating battery charger for a few hours and then started my generator without any problems. The terminals are on the correct sides. RED/Positive/V+ on the Left side. Black/Negative/V- on the Right side. Most readily available 3rd party replacement batteries of this type have the battery terminals reversed making the installation impossible unless the generator's battery cables are modified and extended. I recommend this battery for the Briggs & Stratton Elite 8000 Watt 030471-xx series generators. BTW - My generator and battery are stored in an enclosure outside in New England.

Update for new replacement battery.I bought this battery to replace the previous replacement battery on my Briggs & Stratton generator. The generator is the Briggs & Stratton Elite Series 7000 Watt model. I had previously replaced the OEM battery in 2017 with this same model of battery. The generator was purchased in 2011, so the original battery lasted about 6 years. That replacement battery lasted about 7 years, 2017 to 2024.The new battery looks the same as the one I replaced. It went in with no troubles and started the generator without any additional charging. The battery arrived charged to 12.3 Volts. While some reviewers have said that the polarity of the posts were reversed, that was not the case with the battery I received. The positive post is on the left side, and the negative post is on the right side. That is fortunate, for there is no slack in the length of the battery cables at all. They barely reach the poles. The Date Code on the box is 2344, which I presume is week 44 of the year 2023. That would make the build date around October 30 of 2023. Please note that the date code is written on the box. I could not find it anywhere on the battery.Old reviewThis battery is an OEM product, and is a direct replacement for the battery that came with my generator (Briggs & Stratton Elite Series 7000 Watt). It arrived in a Briggs & Stratton box. The ID number on the box is 193463GS, and the number on the battery is CP 12810. It looks identical to the original battery. The battery fits perfectly in the steel box that holds it in place. After installing it and letting it top off the charge for a day it started the generator instantly. The size of the battery is difficult to read from the photos on the web page because the camera angles distort my ability to measure it against the rulers in the background, so I measured it myself, and the measurements are:Height: 3"Width: 7"Depth: 6 1/2"The negative pole is on the right side, looking at the face of the battery. The wires are attached with bolts that screw into the posts just like on the original. The Date Code is 1703, which I presume to mean March of 2017, although I could be wrong on that point.

Almost a perfect replacement for my Craftsman generator battery. The only difference is the positive and negative poles are reversed from the OEM one but my cables were long enough to fit so no problem for me.More expensive than some others here, but less than Sears and is identical (except polarity) to the OEM right down to the stickers on the case. As was the OEM battery, this is made in China. One star off for the polarity difference but it's back because I got it faster from Amazon than I could from Sears for less money.

The terminals are opposite of photo. Had to modify negative terminal cable to make it fit my Generac 7550 exl generator. Part number is exact match and this did come in a briggs and stratton box but terminals are opposite of original, beware. Battery came charged and ready to go so I put up with it.

This battery was an exact replacement for the one I had in the generator. It was packaged very well and was intact when I got it. The only minor problem I had with it was one of the terminal screws was bent. It looked as if the screw was not screwed all the way down and somewhere in transit or in the manufacturing process, it got bumped. It was bent bad enough that I couldn't use it, but not a problem because I had the 2 screws from the old battery and they were exactly the same. The battery even had the torque setting for tightening the screws down which I appreciated, although instead of going the 55 in lb setting, I went with 45 in lb on my torque wrench which I think was tight enough.Another positive thing was the battery was already charged. I couldn't get to the project for 2 weeks so the battery sat on my workbench. After I got it installed, it amazingly had enough juice in it to start the 15 hp engine on my generator effortlessly.Totally happy with it and would recommend it to others.
