Great OEM part. The exact length for my Toro snow blower. 5.5 Briggs and stratton engine. Good price too.

When I took this out of the box I thought I had ordered the wrong part because it looked so skinny compared to my worn out, frayed, starter cord. This cord worked well as a replacement and got my lawn mower started again.

For Toro recycler 20371, this string was a good fit and replacement.

I replaced my cub cadet briggs and stanton starter rope. My original rope was black and thought this one was black as well. I was surprised it came in white. It seems stronger and thinner than my original rope. Its à bit longer as well. Since it was longer than my original rope, I doubled tied at the handle instead of cutting it. Just in case the rope breaks again and ill have extra rope to extend. Overall, great replacement and it helped me start my mower after the 2nd pull.

It worked ok but was smaller in diameter than the old cord I replaced, and it was the recommended part number. Also, it was 4 inches shorter, but seems to work. We'll see for how long.

I'm very glad that I found the actual Briggs & Stratton pull rope. I have over a foot of extra rope, so at least for my application, they were very generous. I tried to give it an extra revolution to give me more pull rope and to not waste it, but the housing wouldn't allow me to use all of it. There are likely applications that need all the rope, but mine literally had more than I could use and that's a very good thing. Far better to have more than you can use than the other way around. I hate to waste anything, but having all you can use can't really be argued with. I gave 5-stars for durability because it seems to be high quality. It will actually take years before I'll be able to make a real claim of durability. So far, so good.

Yup, this is the real deal. Densely braided rope just like the one that originally comes with a Briggs engine. Mine was 87 inches. I'd guess it at 3/16" diameter; maybe a skosh less. Easy to install: remove 3 screws; install; replace 3 screws. Hardest thing about install is tying a knot in the end - because it is so dense a casual knot does not want to go into space allowed for it. Just really bear down on the knot and poke it into the recess with a small screwdriver or whatever is handy. Original one went 5 years - looks like this will too. For comparison, hardware store nylon rope only lasted 5 mowings; about 4 weeks.

Replaced the old and broken starter rope on my Hayter Harrier lawnmower with a Briggs and Stratton engine with this. As expected given it was a genuine replacement part, it went in a treat, perfect thickness for the auto-recoil and a good strength. The mower was back up and running and hopefully the starter rope will last very many seasons as the previous one did. There are plenty of video tutorials online that explain how to re-thread the starter on your engine. Just don't take it apart and let the spring shoot across the garden/garage/street. It is a pain to get wound back on.

I own a heavy-duty Ariens 824 snowblower, and I had already replaced the starter rope before and it broke AGAIN. With a snowstorm looming I quickly looked for a new one on Amazon Prime, because I needed it fast. I was hoping for very strong rope that wouldn't fray easily, and this is exactly what I got. Despite the fact the listing says it's a Briggs & Stratton replacement, I used it on my Tecumseh 8hp motor with great success. The cord is smaller in diameter than the one I was replacing, this is actually a good thing for 2 reasons: 1) I think the larger diameter was causing the old one to snag in the starter wheel which eventually caused it to tear. 2) It is easier to feed it through the starter wheel hole. This new cord, although smaller in diameter, it's much stronger, because it is more tightly wound than my old rope. The ends are also coated, much like new shoelaces, so you don't have to worry about the ends coming undone. I cannot share with you the actual length of this rope, as I did not measure it, but I can tell you that I only needed half of it, which means I have enough for a backup, if this one shall break (which I doubt will happen). All of these Pro's, and it's the cheapest one on Amazon!! It doesn't come with the pull handle, which is not needed if you broke your existing cord, since you will still have the handle from the snapped rope. Though the aesthetics won't matter to most, I do like the black color of this cord better than the white cord.Pro's-Amazon Prime eligible, fast shipping-Low price, $6.71 at the time of review.-Great value-Very Strong cord-Long enough for 2 replacements (may not be a universal statement, but half the cord was long enough for my Tecumseh 8hp)-Coated ends to prevent fraying-Smaller diameter cord, makes it easier to replace, since it's easier to get it through the holes in the starter wheel, and it also prevents it from getting hung up in the wheelCons-Absolutely None.
