It's an adapter cable. Exactly as expected. I do like that it has a little bit of cable between the two ends to keep it from blocking the port next to my DisplayPort.

これに至るまでに、DVI-D→VGAの変換コネクタ とか DVI-D→VGAのアナログコンバータとか色々と試しました。DVI-D→VGAの変換コネクタ は画像すら表示されず、DVI-D→VGAのアナログコンバータ（謳い文句は1920x1200対応）は縦1200出ず。既に嫌な予感してたので、同時に購入していた当製品を繋いだ所、全く何の問題も発生せずに1920x1200で認識しました。最初からこれにしておけばよかったｗ

サブディスプレイに出力するために使います。ネジで固定できない時は紐をX掛けで対処します。その他は問題ありません。

I read some of the negative reviews for this product so was a little worried. Today I used the product for a client who wanted three monitors and it worked fine. I ordered this one because the normal place I buy them had them back ordered. This one was cheaper and seems to work just as good and I had it in two days with prime shipping.

After my company switched me to another computer, I noticed that the VGA port was missing. I needed an adapter for my presentations, and found the Cable Matters to match what I was looking for. After using it on daily basis for the last three weeks, I found that the adapter meets my needs very well. Great design, ease of use, flexible, and very necessary.

Pro: It does exactly what you need it to do, use old VGA monitors on DP inputs. It also looks nice with a gloss coating on the VGA side.Con: Due to the VGA female side the connector is heavy and will pull on your DP connector in your Graphics card/ Motherboard making possible damage occur after years of use. also it may just be my connector, but no matter how hard i screw in the VGA connector i still get a jittery image (not noticable in games or videos, but if you are on a webpage with lots of vertical lines you may notice it.Overall: its a solid product for anyone who has an old VGA monitor and is already using their VGA, DVI, and HDMI ports.

I am giving this 5 stars because it works perfectly as needed, but I must state: the picture does NOT match the product. The product I received looks like the standard HP DisplayPort to DVI adapter you get with the docking station. That is, it has a short piece of wire between the DisplayPort plug and the VGA plug. It is not a single piece as shown. For me, this was not an issue in the slightest. Again, it works perfectly.
