Easy-to-use, and looks like it should last for quite a while.

I bought this device as a trial, hoping it would work with iSmartgate LIte Garage opener and to my surprise it DID. This device lets me override the wifi connectivity and use a hardware cable for internet connectivity.Basically, I plugged it in the garage opener to create a USB to ethernet connection, and it was plug and play. iSmartgate also sells a similar device for $25 under their own brand name. This one was $10.There's very little information about what other 3rd party USB to Ethernet devices that will work with iSmargate Garage Lite openers.Writing this review to help the next person who is searching similarly.

Worked on my 2013-2015 Macbook Pro while trying to install Linix Mint Cinnamon and having issue with the WiFi driver. No muss no fuss. Plugged in and played with no extra effort. We accessed the Driver Manager and downloaded the missing file "broadcom-sta-dkms.

I've been using these adapters for different Raspberry Pi models and they work without any issues out of the box.

This Review is For:Cable Matters Plug & Play USB to Ethernet Adapter with PXE, MAC Address Clone Support (Ethernet to USB 2.0 Adapter, Ethernet Adapter for Laptop) Supporting 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Network in BlackBy: Cable Matters Store===============================================Bought this as an Amazon Deal and it was shipped and received quickly. Inserted it into a USB2 port, connected an Ethernet cable and it worked immediately - didn't even have to reboot. However, a subsequent Windows Update did download a newer driver. My application:The onboard Ethernet module on my old Dell desktop Windows 10 computer had stopped working, apparently due to lack of driver updates. The wireless USB network adapter I was using had occasional problems penetrating the thick plaster walls in my old home, but has been retired and the computer now has a reliable connection to my network using this device.Very Slow Speeds:The specs only mention that USB 2.0 speeds are up to 480 MB/s. Providing that theoretical USB 2.0 maximum speed is deceiving, as large-file transfers FROM this computer are just over 11 MB/s and average about 45 MB/s TO this computer. (For testing, the other computers had gigabit onboard Ethernet modules.) Some other reviews mention various non-performance issues but I haven't had any. None with reliability, Internet connections or for streaming content. (My home network consists of an AX router and CAT5E cabling and is connected to a Comcast cable feed.) I haven't had this device very long and will try to remember to update this review if any issues are encountered. It Works, if you don't mind slow speeds.:Although the measured data transfer rates are a bit slow, I view this device as an inexpensive fix for a non-critical problem. If you require faster speeds and have a USB3 port, you may want to look for a USB3 version of this device, or simply use a wireless USB network adapter. However, for what it is, I recommend this device.
