I generally don’t have problems with the standard viewfinder. With the EOS R5 mkII, however, I had initially problems with the eye control and the manual suggested to use this add on for a more consistent reading.Okay, now that I tried it, I can acknowledge that it’s well designed and with a price tag to match. Yet, I am not convinced yet.The eye cup snaps onto the standard design and does not require for the original to be removed. There is a frame that snaps on stationary. The flexible cup, however, can rotate on that frame with slight snap points in 90 degree increments. The hood is large and keeps the light out of the viewfinder. Providing a consistent positioning of the eye didn’t come natural. In fact, it seemed to make it harder and certainly needs some getting used to.The eye cup is fairly large, and that mostly matters for the fit into a case. It can be relatively removed for storage, and must be removed to open (or close) the screen.Overall, it does what it’s supposed to, but not without drawbacks. At $60, it does feel less than the no brainer it probably should be.

I love this eyecup, a bit pricey but it works and very well thought out. It rotates while on you eye, very soft, and you can take it off very easy to keep the system compact. I highly recommend it.
