When I took it out of the box and was turning the gears by hand I noticed it binding up in the middle of the turning range. Thought it would loosen up and with the power steering pump not be noticeable but after a couple months still the same.

Compared to the 1965 Ford gear it claims to replace, the mounting cutouts were small and the gear would not snug up against the frame. So you have to insert some washers between the gear body and frame on two of the bolts (can't reach the third). This slightly changes the angle of the gear, maybe enough that the pitman arm won't line up square, so you have to remove that from the center link, which is not easy.... darned rabbit hole. Also, there is no hole for the bolt that holds down the cooler, the pitman nut is smaller than stock and does not come with a locknut. Basically, the body is a reman from some other car, claimed on Amazon to fit a Ford.Fitment issues aside, the chinese assemblers did a good job. The gear has 3-2/3 turns lock to lock and after three days is smooth and does not leak.I had ordered two of these from Rock auto and one from NAPA and all three were Saginaw gears mis-labeled as this one and would not fit. IDK what's the labeling problem at Cardone, but I added a star here because at least it was not a Saginaw.
