As long as one's needs are simple (as mine are), this is an excellent little device. The concept is solid, and all three attachments heat up VERY quickly. I especially like the wire which, while limiting the depth of cut, will cut a VERY fine line, allowing for intricate cutting. In addition, being able to concentrate that heat in such a fine 'thread' reduces the residue that remains on the heated thread after a cut.These are also VERY easy to clean.With the 'U' shaped attachment it's also very easy to make straighter cuts on pieces that will accommodate the width of the opening.I'll be using mine quite a bit, since I have a multitude of tools that need to be 'organized. This will allow me to create recessed openings for tools in a foam bed, and are PERFECT, while utilizing as much real estate as a drawer/box will allow.The battery lasted a good bit longer than I would have anticipated, and it's GREAT not to be tethered by a power cord.Excellent idea, brilliantly executed.
