While not the venders fault, i purchased this rebuilt actuator for my truck... when i put it on in April, it did not correct the problem... I didnt have time to play around with it until today, but after tracing all wiring ... all roads lead to a faulty actuator motor... i removed it from the transmission and the seals on this shift actuator were poor allowing it to fill with transmission oil...after performing an autopsy, i realized it never worked because electrically, the encoder was not assembled correctly.. Dont waste your money on these "rebuilt" units....

I bought this and installed it in my truck. I still had the same fault cones afterwards. I ended up replacing additional sensor for $100 and still had the same default codes. I did what I normally don’t do and I brought it to Mechanic. he told me to get a factory motor.So I returned this motor and bought a Dorman brand motor. Still thinking that geez what if the motor is not the problemThis cheap motor was the problem. I installed the new motor from Dorman and I was able to shift my 4 wheel drive modes without needing a mechanic or programming.Please don’t do what I did.if I would’ve bought the Dorman brand motor, I could’ve saved myself money and time in the long run.

We had the exact same experience as Steve from Canada!! But we bought ours before he posted his review - had we seen it while shopping we wouldn't have bought this and saved ourselves a lot of frustration and time and money!!! Just saw it after we spent a lot of money last week to pin down our 4wd problem and realized our return window had expired on this. The mechanic happened to have an old motor in his toolbox and tried it while troubleshooting our truck, and lo and behold the 4wd worked like a charm. If he hadn't been so frustrated and desperate to try anything he wouldn't have thought to check the brand new motor hubby had installed. Have since got a new motor elsewhere and truck is working like it should. Save yourself and don't bother with this one!

Purchased this encoder motor as it was significantly cheaper than the rest but that was a mistake. The motor had a fault right out of the box. Caused me frustration from the start as the motor didn’t fix the problem only adding to it as it cost me time to get the issue diagnosed. Luckily Amazon customer support was great and the supplier allowed a refund after item was sent back. Ended up paying more for a Dorman encoder motor and now the problem is fixed
