Cellulose Acetate Film Cellulose acetate is a cellulose acetate formed by the hydroxylation of cellulose. The thin film made from this substance is called cellulose acetate film. This type of film has low adsorption capacity for protein samples and can almost completely eliminate the "tailing" phenomenon that occurs during electrophoresis. Additionally, due to the membrane's low hydrophilicity, it can hold less buffer solution, and most of the current during electrophoresis is conducted by the sample. Therefore, the separation speed is fast, the battery time is short, and the sample dosage is small. A satisfactory separation effect can be achieved with 5ug of protein. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for detecting trace abnormal proteins in pathological conditions. The treatment of cellulose acetate membrane with glacial acetic acid ethanol solution or other transparent liquids can make the membrane transparent, which is beneficial for the determination of light absorption spectra and long-term storage of the membrane.
Adavantage Compared with filter paper, cellulose acetate film has the following advantages:

(2) Quickly save time. Since the hydrophilicity is smaller than that of filter paper and the electroosmosis effect is small, most of the current is conducted by the sample during electrophoresis, so the separation speed is fast and the electrophoresis time is short. Generally, the electrophoresis can take 45~60 minutes. With dyeing and decolorization, the entire electrophoresis can be completed in about 90 minutes.
(3) High sensitivity, less sample consumption, serum protein electrophoresis only needs 2 L serum, so it is often used to detect the
