All popcorn kernels will never pop which are wasted. If in the microwave for a longer time for all kernels to pop, popcorn will be burned.

This works great and makes microwave popcorn much cheaper. You need to play around with timing and the amount of kernels. We fill the bottom all the way and microwave for about 4 minutes. You just need to listen like regular microwave popcorn and stop the microwave when the popping stops. Most times the lid opens but the popcorn stays in the popper.

I grew up on pan-cooked popcorn. It was great, but always left me with a greasy pan, sometimes a burnt batch, and arguably some popcorn that wasn't as healthy to eat. After having tried virtually every other way to make popcorn, and having spent lots of money on all kinds of devices, I found this to be the perfect popper. I have owned one of these for years and have given away many as gifts. So simple to use, once you find the correct quantity of corn to use and the proper time set on your microwave. I use one third cup corn, and set time to 3:15 minutes. (Popping time depends on your altitude and Microwave.) I am able to re-pop most of the kernels that escape, or do not pop the first time around. If you want the best flavor and texture, don't use cheap kernels. For less expensive kernels, I find Jolly Time and Reddenbache's brands to work well.

Absolutely love this unit with one small exception. The very first pop of 5 TBSP upon their recommendation worked perfectly. However, since then kernels started getting popped out from the popping. So to prevent premature top from opening and forcing the kernels to stay in, I put the poptop in *but* with the top open and covered with bake grade silicon cover used to cover bowls when microwaved from splattering. Works like a charm. Pops without a single popcorn or kernel outside of the poptop. One other advice; I powdered on flavoring which obviously didn't stick to dry popcorn so I used a butter flavored cooking spray and spray down the popcorn and while wet, powdered on the flavoring. Most excellent.

This is easy to use and easy to clean and works very well. It makes enough popcorn for one or two people - you would have to use it multiple times for larger volume. The popcorn is fine but for me it needs some seasonings added. Toppings seem to vary in amount of salt and calories they contain but there are lots of choices on-line and in stores with which to experiment.

The flaps for this item simply will not stay closed properly. Due to this, at least half of the popcorn kernels will not pop at all, and if you leave it in the microwave long enough for everything to pop, at least half of the popcorn is burned. On top of that, also because the flaps do not close properly, A lot of popcorn just flies right out of the popperI ordered this item on recommendation from a friend who has had one for years. In the time between when he got his and I got mine, whatever material they used to make it must have changed. We compared ours side by side and his flaps close easily and stay in position with little to no effort - either one of us could do it with a single hand. When attempting the same with mine, the flaps either flat up and out or place while you are starting to close them, or just fall down completely. Either way, there massive gaps for exploding popcorn to escape out if the popper.Would rate zero stars if I could. Rated 3 stars on ease of cleaning because there basically is none, since you don't use oil and can't use flavorings in the popper itself.Pretty bad. Just pop it in an instant pot or stove top pot instead.

Me gustó mucho, no tengo problemas para usarlo, son muy pocas semillas que no logran explotar. Tardé un poco en encontrar el tiempo adecuado para que no se quemarán y pudiera explotar las semillas

The good -This is nice and compact and easy to store, especially compared to my old hot air popper. The convenience of it being the popcorn bowl is pretty nice too.The Meh -Item claims to be dishwasher safe, but the shiny cherry red finish disappears to a milky pink after the first trip through the dishwasher. This is merely cosmetic, but someone in product development didn't work this through all the way. It's also not real good for tossing the popcorn to get an even distribution of salt and butter. With my hot air popper, I would pop into a large stainless steel bowl, drizzle the butter and sprinkle the salt, and toss the whole thing a few times to make sure that every piece had butter and salt on it.The Bad - Closing the lid on this thing is rather difficult. Once you do manage to get it to stay shut, there's still a hole in the middle through which several unpopped kernels will fly out and into the microwave early in the popping process. Once you're done, the unit is VERY hot, even the tabs by which you're supposed to grab it.

I used to buy microwaveable pop-corn from the supermarket, but they were always covered in salt or butter. I decided to try a pop-corn maker so I could make my own and turn a guilty pleasure into a healthy option. At first I had some hesitations because the pop-corn maker was a bit pricey, but decided to give it go. The result is AMAZING. I put a couple of spoons of corn at the bottom of the pop-corn maker (you can add oil, but I didn't), fold it closed, put it into my battered microwave for 2 minutes and... eat the pop-corn. It took me a couple of attempts to figure out how long to leave the corn in for, but I am totally satisfied with the quality of the pop-corn. My kids are super impressed too.
