The only dis is that the adapter does not come with a heat sink. It assumed you already have on from the motherboard (I guess?). Motherboard do not come always with heat sinks for M2 slots.

Got this for a Dell T630 as I moved from esxi to Proxmox. I tried this as my boot drive and just had nothing but issues the 2 weeks I had it installed. Frequent lockups because of storage timeouts, boot errors in BIOS and more. I eventually got tired of the near daily (or more frequently) crashes and stalls.Switched to a IO CREST Dual M.2 B-Key SATA SSD Converter PCI Express 3.0 x1 Expansion Card / https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZWVTHDR which worked perfectly and resolved every issue.

hatte 2 Stück bestellt, da ich noch 30 x 256 GB m.2 Sata SSD's da hatte, aber 1 Stück ging nach kurzer Zeit und wenig Benutzung kaputt, sinnlos 30 Euro verbraten, Originalverpackung schon entsorgt...toll

To add more SSD space to a system that has only 6 SATA ports, this works. As far as I know, It works much like a HBA card but for SATA M.2 interface, no wires to deal with.One thing of concern is the onboard chip, which processes the data to the other SSDs. I know from experience with a LSI 9207-8i, the chip has a heatsink which does get hot. So that being said, it would be a good idea to add on a heatsink to the chip on this card. and thus I give this product a 1-star.

Sadly this m.2 sata to pcie adapter isn’t working for me. Three different machines refuse to recognize the controller and one machines refuses to enter the BIOS while it’s card is installed in any pcie 1x slot
