The part to push the pit out is a solid circle. Every other pitter I've seen has a cross instead. The circle smashes the cherry, especially our smaller tart variety.

I received this timely. We have a dwarf cherry bush/tree and I wanted to use this to help with removing the Pitts from our small cherries. It took a little bit of a learning curve since I had not used one before, but ultimately it did save time and I got more proficient with using it. I definitely will look forward to using it every year.

The correct gadget (a cherry pitter) arrived promptly and was useful immediately. It works simply and effectively. Protect your hands with gloves as the cherries juice stains. The pitter makes pitting cherries quick.

The design is very clean and the price was great, but the pitter is not centered on the hole, so it takes some effort to make it work. You might consider spending a little more for a better quality pitter.
