It worked immediately upon installing the two AAA batteries. It is a bit on the small size so I jammed it into the cradle that it comes-with to give it a bit more bulk for the ease of handling.It came with good instructions in English.I recommend it.

This is better than the original. Thicker and better made. Uses regular AA batteries.

The item came ontime and of course no instructions needed. I ordered as a replacement for a fireplace which has not been turned on for the last 4yrs. I was a bit uncertain since there were only 3 button on the remote, however I put the batteries in and whallah... works perfectly.

I was a little leery about buying this item even though the model number was the same. Our controller stopped working and this new one was a different style. It works fine and worked right off the bat. The batteries are AAA versus a button cell, but I prefer it. Great choice.

The power button on the original remote wore out so we took a chance on this one. No programming needed, worked great (even better than the original remote)

This is larger than the original one which to me is a benefit. The original was very thin and took a button battery, this one takes 2 AAA batteries so it is a bit thicker and easier to hang on to. It comes with a holder to mount to a end table or something but I didn't use that. Once I put batteries in it, the remote woks exactly as the original one did.

I was very excited to find this replacement remote for our electric fireplace since we couldn’t find the original. The directions said to make sure to pull out the insulating spacer before trying the remote. As you can see from the photo, there was no insulating spacer. I was very disappointed to receive a used remote, therefore the 1 star review.After buying a new battery, the remote does work.
