Precautions for Using Consciot 50 CFM Bathroom Fan with Light

  • Compatible Duct - Features a detachable 3-inch metal duct with an anti-backdraft damper for optimal ventilation and air quality.
  • Preset your desired light color with the toggle switch at the back of the light cover.
  • Note: Mounting dimensions are 7.68 inches x 7.36 inches.
  • Ensure Perfect Fit: Adjust the casing of the hole for the optimal fit of your fan. Trace and cut the ceiling with a keyhole saw if the hole is too small. If too big, cut the right size of drywall and use wood and drywall caulk for attachment. The repaired area can be polished with putty later.
  • Insulating ducts can help prevent condensation when warm air from the bathroom meets cold ducts in the attic. To prevent the insulation from slipping off the pipes, wrap the joint with HVAC tape a few times;
  • The deep grooves of the flexible pipe can easily bend into the opening and clog the damper. Use semi-rigid pipe, which is made of aluminum and has very shallow corrugations that allow you to bend or stretch it.
  • If the light or fan is not working, make sure the light and fan cables are connected correctly. This product is only suitable for 120V;
  • Note: If you would like to use the night light alone, please use 2 switches to control the light and fan separately. If you can only use one switch, and have trouble when changing between the night light and main light, please turn off from the light mode you need, leave it at least for 5 minutes before the next turn on, so the light will remember the current mode and back again next time.
  • In heating and ventilation systems, it is common practice to use sheet metal ductwork and fittings or flexible duct ducting, and use duct tape or aluminum tape to ensure an airtight seal and increase efficiency.
  • Please aware - the mounting dimentions of our fan are 7.68" x 7.36".

    If the hole is too small, trace the housing onto the ceiling and then cut with a keyhole saw. If it's too big, patch it with a piece of drywall to fit the fan appropriately.

  • Please ensure you're using a non-dimming switch with good contacts.

    Check that the cables to the light and fan are properly connected, and the wire connecting the lampshade to the housing is well inserted.

    Please note, the fan only works with 120V.

  • Check the damper to ensure it opens and closes properly.

    Avoid sharp bends in the duct closer than 18 in. to the fan discharge.

    Use the recommended size ducting (3-inch).

    Ensure the fan and fan house screws are securely attached in place.

  • Ensure that a door or window is slightly ajar or open to allow airflow.

    Confirm that the fan is vented with the correct size duct(3-inch).

    Confirm that the air vent and air intake is not blocked. It is recommended to use rigid or semi-rigid ducting.

  • Please avoid venting through soffit or ridge vents, as hot air drawn back into the attic through them can condense. Using insulated ducting can effectively prevent condensation when hot air from bathroom exhausts encounters cold ducts in the attic.

Works great! To change it to a dimmer light just flip the switch on/off again.

Pros: Smaller sized, adjustable led 2700k-5000k, quiet-ish fan.Cons: The fan is slow to start, the led light isn’t pleasing no matter what color is chosen, the light cover is not very stylish, and the fan gets louder with use over time/hours.

I love how bright the light is, how quiet the fan is & how easy it was to mount and install the outer casing! Once the old box was removed, installation of this one was a cinch!

I always read the reviews on products before I buy them on Amazon and there was some negative reviews on this item but I decided to get it anyway and I’m glad I did. I didn’t hook it up myself because I don’t like getting into my attic but my buddy got up there for me and didn’t have any problems. It looks good and I like that I have 2 switches, one for the light and one for the fan. I got the small one and it works perfectly in my bathroom. It clears out steam instantly and any bad smells as well. My bathroom is about 10’ X 10’ so it’s not big but this product does exactly what it says it will do. The noise from the fan is minimal. Sometimes I don’t know if it’s on and I have to listen closely. No problems with this item. Highly recommend

I'm remodeling the house and wanted to replace the old bath fan with an integrated fan/light unit. The bathroom being on the small side (~40sqf), I opted for the smaller 50CFM model.Installed fine. I screwed it to the ceiling joist, though it also appears capable of being set directly into existing drywall using built-in tabs.I'm still under construction so I haven't made use of the fan properly, but I can say it works and is rather quiet. One thing to note is that the exhaust port is 3” and not the 4” that my old fan used – I ended up having to go to my local big box and purchase a reducer so I could hook the exhaust to the roof vent.I think the light looks pretty decent. It's obviously plastic, but it doesn't look cheap. The lighting it provides is good and I'm always happy to see a selectable color temperature – I like it warm! The nightlight is activated by the primary light switch – by turning the light on and off and back on again within a few seconds. It's a pretty neat functionality, though sometimes it can get stuck in a mode for a couple on-off cycles.I like it so far.
