This is more like a wind breaker than a jacket. It's slightly puffy but not really that useful to keep warm. Its not waterproof so I don't think it should be used like a rain jacket.

So I love this jacket. Love, love, love it! It is reversible, first of all, though I'll probably only wear it on the solid color pattern. The pockets! You need to know about the pockets! I wore this for the first time on a trip to birdwatch, and was delighted that I could slip my (small) binoculars into one pocket, and my phone in another (for pics) and still use the handwarmer pockets. There are a variety of pockets on either side. And the colors! They look even better in person. Also, it's lightweight and can be packed down very small. Perfect for travel! The bad side, or maybe not, depending on what you're looking for, is that it isn't the warmest jacket in the world. Think of it as being good for fall or spring or mild climates. Or SoCal cold...as in not very. I am in NM and wore it on a winter day trip where the temps varied from 35 at my house, to 60 with a cool wind, to 45. It was slightly too warm at 60--but when the cold wind blew, I was glad to have it, and it does cut wind very well. I was only wearing a t-shirt underneath at 60.At 45, with just a t-shirt underneath, it was great for walking around. But if I stayed in one place or got hit by a big cold wind gust, I was slightly cold. I added a woolen pullover and I was perfectly comfortable. By the time I got home (higher altitude) and it was mid-30s with a mean wind, it was not really enough, even with the thin wool pullover. So it's good for mild climates or spring/fall, and I think I can make it work just fine even in NM winters by adding another layer, but it certainly wouldn't work for folks that regularly have colder temps.I'm delighted with it though. It's small enough for travel and stowing away, but it cuts the wind for the most part and is good into the 40s (at least for me). I love it so much, I'm going to look into other products by this company. Also, a word on sizing. I got both the large and xl. I am probably a size 14/16 up top (38 DD). I'm narrow hipped so thought the large just might work. It didn't. I could zip it up, but yeah, I felt like a sausage, but ther problem was not in the waist but in the bust. So I kept the xl which fits well around the bust and I can put another layer under it. It's a bit big in the waist hips, but that often happens to me. If you're busty, you'll need a bigger size, and for my plus-size friends--You might be able to get into the xl depending on shape/size, but it's not a big jacket, unfortunately. Also, I didn't pay full price for this. Though I like the company's goals and like the product, I don't think it is worth full price. But at around $100, I'm ok with it.

I bought my husband a Cotopaxi coat for his birthday then I wanted to get one. It’s incredibly warm for how packable and lightweight it is! I think this will be the perfect camping and hiking coat. The colors can be a bit loud but the coat is awesome and I would highly recommend it. PS it being reversible is also rather cool.
