This clamp did not work for me. It is large and heavy and somewhat awkward to install, but the biggest problem is that you cannot adapt other standard L brackets. The end of their L bracket is a larger diameter than the vertical section, they do NOT mention this in the description, AND you cannot clamp any other standard L bracket because the part that attaches to this clamp will not tighten down to the standard diameter of most L brackets, it is ONLY designed to hold the larger diameter section of their L bracket. Thus this unit is not versitile and adaptable, it only has this very limited and narrow use, so if that works for you fine. I needed to adapt a taller L bracket and this clamp is not friendly that way. I returned it and bought a much more versitile Pearl equivalent with its quick release, much better for my application and the Pearl will take any other L bracket or one you might bend yourself if want taller.
