A bit of a surprise. It arrived with an adjustable frother. A very nice feature associated with a more expensive machine. We really like this machine. It makes great coffee, is easy to use and is very compact.

This handsome fellow looks great on my counter and turns out delicious coffee daily.Pro Tip: If you want hotter water, turn the power knob left toward steam and wait for that green light before turning all the way right to activate pump.I recommend investing in a coffee tamper. For this machine you’ll want one measuring 51mm. One good choice is the DeLonghi DLSC058. It will be sized correctly and its base is hefty. If you’re wondering, ‘Where are the additional portafilter inserts?’ They’re attached to the bottom side of the machine’s water reservoir cover. My ECP3620 vibrates strongly and is noisy while operating but calms down a bit if I place my hand firmly on it. At this price point, this level of vibration and noise takes off zero stars.I don’t know yet about longevity of seals, pump, etc. I like it so I’m keeping fingers crossed! 🤞🏽

We had an EC155 for around 13 years! Worked like a champ and the pump finally went out. We had to have put 1000's of shots through it. That said, hoping this will stand up.I have noticed some differences, the cup dispenses from one hole making the coffee crema affect lesser. However, the pump is solid and pushes through very fine grounds very well.

Purchased a “brand new” unit, only to receive a filthy and obviously poorly refurbished unit in a retail box that was damaged. It was supposed to be a Xmas gift and made me beyond embarassed. DO NOT order from this seller. Still had coffee grounds on the plastic spoon that came with the thing. Disgusting and weak.

I’ve been using this espresso machine for a couple of months now. I love it. The coffee is hot (as long as I warm up the machine first by running water through it) and you can get loads of froth on your milk (or not: the wand has a setting for heat only though you can also control that by how deep you immerse the wand). I like the fact that the steamer wand sits out of the way underneath the canopy when you’re not using it. The crema is good (though this mostly depends on your coffee and grind) and you can control how long or short your espresso is by turning off the water flow when it’s how you like. Being fully manual you have complete control over everything ( and there’s less to break😉.) I’ve had a DeLonghi at my cottage for years with no problems.

This unit replaces a well worn ECP3630 that I’ve used since December of 2015. That machine had a failure of its overpressure valve (cracked body) that lead it to a well earned retirement to my project desk where it will likely become a dedicated steaming machine. There is a replacement part for $20 shipped, but I figured a new machine would be a good idea since I’ve likely used the old machine well beyond its design lifespan. This model, the ECP3620, is supposed to not come with the two mode paranello but mine did. I had to double check my order and the box’s SKU to be sure I hadn’t accidentally ordered the slightly more expensive 3630. My guess is either someone grabbed the wrong part at the factory or they installed this intentionally to keep the line going. Regardless I don’t use it to steam, preferring to use the rubber nozzle under the body of the paranello on its own. You may luck out and get the same upgrade. The two mode wand is helpful for getting warm slightly foamed milk but it will not give you anything resembling microfoam. The machine lacks a three way valve, which would remove pressurized water from the group head and make it possible to open the portafilter without waiting for the pressure to drop. That’s where some people’s complaints are coming from. No machine in this price range has a three way valve. You need a Gaggia Classic or better for that.In four years a few improvements have been made. The nobs have a better, tighter, feel but lack as much of the snappy click as my old machine. I appreciate that tolerances have gotten better. From some reviews it sounds like there may have been some quality issues in 2018. The included pressurized portafilter baskets are a two piece design with a nice rubber lip for removing the two halves. This removes the need to boil the filters to clean them as you can simply open and wipe them. This is *such* an improvement over the old ones. If you haven’t dealt with it before, trust me when I say that a clogged pressurized filter is terrible. So what can you do with this machine to make a better coffee? Buy an unpressurized 51mm portafilter basket and remove the plastic coffee guide (so that the portafilter basket fits). There are several of these on amazon for five to ten dollars. You can also modify the wand and replace it with the Rancilio Silvia steam wand, but this is way more work than you may be up for as you have to disassemble and rebuild the whole machine. This isn’t all that hard to be honest, but it is intimidating. The portafilter swap is both easier and a better bang for your buck. Lastly if you do take it apart adding a fishing tank thermometer to the boiler is very handy for knowing if your boiler is at the top or bottom of the heating cycle. You can do this by disassembling the casing and adding it to the middle of the boiler body or adding it to the bottom of the group head from the outside of the machine.

For years I had the older model of this. Used it 2-4 times a day, and the coffee was always amazing. Guests actually said how they preferred it to getting an espresso out.I got the newer model because I moved to a an apartment with limited kitchen space.Do not buy this machine. The motor runs and runs without dispensing coffee. No matter how much you clean the water tank, the espresso tastes like cheap, disgusting plastic.Really disappointed in Delonghi. Going to try to send this back since it's only a month old and hasn't worked properly once. Might try a Breville.
