Preventing and stopping wood rot is one of the most important aspects to consider when building a deck. Whether building a hardwood, pressure treated or composite deck, trapped moisture and water is the enemy that will shorten the lifespan and compromise the safety of your deck. Prevent future wood rot on your deck and build with WiseWrap LedgerTape flashing barrier tape made by DeckWise to ensure many years of outdoor enjoyment. Each roll of WiseWrap LedgerTape measures 12" x 25' and is approximately 35-40 mil thick. Our deck flashing tape is a flexible polyethylene waterproof wood flashing and barrier material made with a rubberized asphalt mastic adhesive. Easily apply this durable, self-adhesive material as flashing to protect deck ledger boards against water. Wrap in-ground wooden deck posts to provide a barrier against fungi and soil moisture. Traditional metal flashing uses nails or screws to secure the top lip to the side of the house thus creating an unsealed hole. Even when covered by house wrap and siding, there is still an unsealed hole into the side of the building. WiseWrap LedgerTape is self-adhesive as well as self-sealing and does not require nails or screws to secure to the side of the house, eliminating unsealed holes. Any nail or screw that might penetrate the deck flashing tape will instantly be sealed around to prevent moisture from ever entering the hole. Likewise, lag bolts and even staples are automatically sealed to prevent the intrusion of moisture.

I put the stuff on the deck beam that measure 21 feet in length, had plenty of tape left over but the stuff never stuck to the boards Like it said it would. It all lift off. The only reason why it is still in place is because the Joist are holding it down. I guess I can use stainless staples or construction adhesive to hold it down.

I used this to re-do the flashing on a deck ledger board. Any time you work with a giant piece of tape it's gonna be a little tricky but this really wasn't too bad. For ledger boards they say to work from the bottom up, starting 7.5" down from the top of the board.I rolled out my piece, cut it to length and took it inside. I laid it out on my floor and measured 7.5" from the bottom the whole length of the piece. I verrrrrry carefully scored the backing paper (lightest touch possible with the blade!) This let me work on sticking to the ledger board first, then peeling off the rest of the backing paper and sticking it to the top of the ledger and up the wall. If this was a factory feature it would be so helpful!

l’m a homeowner not professional , let’s start with that. I want to like this product as well as the same product in their joist tape size . So I gave it some time using this and the joist tape to see how I would like it on my porch project .It’s easy to work with , initially, seems thicker than others I have used and I want to like it .But, it had serious adhesion issues day after applied . Temps were in low 70s and dry so well within the recommended temperature range . I applied it, rolled it but next day it was pealing off the wall!I stapled it , applied heat to it , rolled it again and seems sticking a bit better but not great . Had it not been under a covered porch I would probably have ripped it all off and used a different product.Similar experience with the joist tape (not purchased on Amazon ) top sticks ok, sides just don’t stick well over the joist. I ended up using a different product on the joists mostly , wish I could return the other rolls (not Amazon ) . Overall , disappointing and I’m sure there are better products .Did I use it incorrectly ? Possibly but doubtful. I have used similar products on a siding to roof intersection with much better results . I purchased this brand mainly due to it was sold by the lumber dealer where I purchased the decking.I’m sorry to say I would not buy again or recommend./G.

Husband is using it to remodel our deck. As far as I can see he likes it.The only issue I had was with shipping. Pay for prime shipping and it takes 4 days to arrive.

Applied this to fence posts that were set in concrete. Time will tell if the product extends the life of the posts. Will likely use this or another similar branded product on my deck ledger board.
