My 1999 honda crv would just shut off on its own. While driving and then not crank over. Once the car cooled down it would start, but that would take forever. My mechanic recommended this part. They call it a igniter.Goes in the distributor. And boom 💥 it started no issues. This part is high quality and a brand name.

Worked like a charm. This old Honda crv with 230k miles died in my driveway, cranked but wouldn't start. Checked to make sure we were getting fuel and we were, weren't getting spark! After a quick Google search I found this was a common "no start" issue. I replaced it and she's back on the road! Good product at a great price!

Was helping someone that had sporadic stalling of their 2 liter Honda CRV over a two day span. The car would restart immediately but at the end of the second day it would not start (crank no start). Using my multimeter I diagnosed a bad ignition control module. Not wanting to overpay for a low quality auto parts chain store brand I was able to find this Denso unit at a great price with delivery the next day (Saturday).I did receive the part as scheduled and it included a small packet of thermal grease. Shockingly the Denso part I received was brand new! Lately the parts I have ordered and recieved were used parts packaged as new.Take note during your Honda installation that the two screws that hold this module to the distributor are NOT Phillips screws but are JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) screws, which look like phillips screws. If you use a phillips screwdriver on these screws you will experience cam-out, stripping the screw head. The module also bolts to a small heat-sink (hence the thermal grease), which are also JIS screws.Do yourself a favor and get yourself a real JIS screwdriver. If you use your phillips screwdriver you WILL strip the screw heads and make the repair harder than needed.

So far, so good! Installed in my daily driver '98 CRV about 4 months ago, and has not failed. Less expensive than the genuine Honda module, and fit perfectly--no modifications needed. I was able to install it on my own. Shipping was fast, installation was fast, and now my CRV is fast again!

--- Original review ---I bought this instead of the one sold by Honda. I was a little skeptical if it would last. It's been a few months now and still works! And, with the price I paid for it, I could buy a bunch of these for the price of one of the Honda modules.--- Updated review ---This part lasted 14 months then it started flaking out, i.e., started stalling out. I just didn't want to take a chance that this will leave my daughter stranded somewhere so I went ahead and replaced it with a genuine Honda part. The Honda part is $200 but the original part lasted over 130,000 miles. I should have bought the Honda part in the first place! Lesson learned. BTW, the new Honda part works great.
