These pins go well on a business suit jacket to represent my alma mater. The color is bold and rich, and the pins look and feel sturdy.

As an Illinois fan I really love two of the three pins. The script Illinois is too small to read unless you’re a foot or two away. The block I and the shield are sized just right to be noticed and readable by people near you. The shapes of the pins are right on, the colors are true to the school colors and the paint is perfectly applied. The manufacturer has put out a jewelry like piece that Illini fans can wear with pride.

This set of 3 pins are perfect additions to my work wear! The enamel coating is smooth and consistent, the metal seems to be cast without any defects. The pin clasps work just fine. There is an "official licensee" sticker so these are legit trademark-wise. I plan to wear these to a large conference this week!

Really liked the look of these when I ordered them. They are well made and very colorful, however they are very small. They are truly lapel pins so if that is what you are looking for these are great. I guess I wanted sweater pins or something larger. As I said though, high quality item so if lapel pins are your goal, these are great.

Overall a nice set of pins for U of I. I like that the shield and block I are both included.I do completely agree with the other reviewers who stated the "Illinois" pin is just too small to be very functional (readable). I think due to the length of the name a double pin-back would be required in order to keep a larger "Illinois" from constantly spinning, which adds to cost and is probably why the size was limited. I'd have preferred a larger "Illinois" personally, at the slightly higher price if necessary.Very minor issue: there was a slight overpainting of the blue onto the edging of the upper part of the shield pin I received. Not enough to complain about, just not 'perfect'.

The butterfly backs on these are not high quality and I don't trust them. And your lapel will have to be thick to keep these pins from wobbling. Sometimes the backs hold the pointed shaft, sometimes they don't. And there is nothing preventing the pins from turning with gravity either--no tiny hooks or spikes on the back to grab material.And the one pin that spells Illinois is very small. So small that I say, "Why bother?"
