Not sure if it was my fault or not, as I have never used an O ring master link before, but at least this one I received, the side plate provided would not fit over the posts of the master link. Felt like it needed to be pressed on with a press or something. I squeezed it with pliers, yet it was not enough force to get it together. I ended up using the side plate from a non-O ring type master link in order to assemble this.
