I mistakenly bought a mat for low pile carpet, which broke immediately, but customer service was helpful in pointing me to the low-medium pile mat. We have medium pile carpet but the new mat broke after a few months. It also completely deformed due to a small space heater which does not get extremely hot. I am about 195 lbs and move around a lot in my chair so it did get a lot of use but it has since cracked all over. Great size options though and would be perfect for a harder floor. I wouldn't put it on carpet.

I sit at my desk on my rolling office chair for 9 hours each day 5 days a week. That is why I bought this mat. Unfortunately, it started cracking after only 8 months of use. It is cracking specifically under where I sit in my chair the majority of the time. I can't blame the product too much as it says it is for low and medium pile carpet. The one thing I can complain about is that they do not have a definition on what that means. I apparently have a high pile carpet though it isn't any thicker or deeper than any normal residential carpet. I need to replace this one now (again, after only 8 months of life) and I am not sure what will be able to function better. This one was supposed to be a heavier duty one than the others that were available at the time.Update: after less then 8 months year this started cracking where my chairs wheels regularly sit while I work. After 1 month of cracks. full blown broken pieces and chunks came off. This was supposed to be for deep carpet but it obviously wasn't.

Very thick and heavy dutyTo help unroll these, stand them above your heater register for a little while.Makes it very easy to uncurl the roll.

I have bought chair mats many times before and within a couple of years they crak and break up. have had this mat for several years and it is still in one piece. It is installed over a low pile carpet in my sewing room. I spend many hours in the sewing room rolling back and forth from sewing machine to cutting table and it is as good as it was the day, I laid it down on the carpet.

Have only had the mat for a few days. That said, it's the perfect size and fit for my home office situation. The regular flooring is low pile carpet but I've noticed that if I sit in one spot with my office chair there are indents in the mat where the chair wheels sit. The dents appear to smooth out quickly so that's a bonus.

Our main goal for the mat? To protect new carpet against wear from the office chair. Goal met? Yes.Cannot speak to durability. Have not owned it long enough. Sturdiness? The mat is softer than I expected. The mat came boxed, rolled up in about a 12" diameter. Because it's softer, after sitting in the office chair for a little while, the chair will sink into the mat, creating depressions at each wheel. When attempting to readjust the chairs position, extra effort is required to overcome the ruts created by the chair in the mat. The mat will return back to its original shape once the chair is moved away from the depressions. Value for the money? IMO, a little pricier, but too early to tell the true value without a few years of experience with it. So far, we're satisfied overall.

I ordered this mat to protect the carpet around my bedroom makeup vanity. It is exactly what I thought it would be in all areas of durability, thickness and overall workmanship and quality.A great value for a fantastic price.Installing the mat suggestions:●I highly suggest taking it out of the box 】and allowing it to adjust to room temp. Preferably a warm temp. This will aid you in unrolling and, thereby, placing it.●I also suggest having the help of a friend to unroll, but if that's not possible.....1.) Turn the mat over on its "back" near the area your want it placed.2.) Place a heavy object on either side of the "underbelly" of the mat.3.) Wearing durable shoes, step on the "underbelly" of the mat, whilst pulling the other end towards you.•••You might have to gently bend the mat in half at the middle to counteract is tendency to roll up.4.) As soon as you have the ability to lay the mat on the carpet ("underbelly" now facing down towards carpet.)5.)Step lightly in a few spots to "tack" down the mat.6.) Drag the mat carefully (so as not to snag your carpet) towards the intended spot and place there. Step on the mat to now firmly "tack" it down.7. ) Last, place heavy objects on top of each corner of the mat for 24 hrs.Enjoy ! 😉

I've used several different chair mats over the years and none of them were as thick as this one. It's literally twice as thick and very durable. Works incredibly well with a super heavy chair (I have one of those ergonomic chairs that weigh a ton and I've always had trouble moving around in it until I switched to this chair mat. It moves so smoothly like it weighs nothing. And yes, it does cause little indentations but move the chair to another position overnight, and the indentations are gone the next day. I have medium carpet pile (1/2" high) and this mat is perfect for it. It doesn't shift around at all. And the size is perfect for my needs. Will definitely buy again.

Very satisfactory product. Yes, it does leave indentations after applying weight for a good amount of time, but it smooths out quickly. There was no noticeable odor. It does come rolled and is quite difficult to flatten out on the floor if you are doing it alone. As an older woman, I managed it quite well. One humorous note: The packaging was interesting as it was incorporated into the rolled material. There were even very specific directions as to which end of the box to open first, etc...... HOWEVER, this very important piece of instructional material was rolled up with the product and did not show itself until I was trying to flatten it on the floor! It needs to be put into a plastic sleeve on the exterior of the box.Aside from that note, I am very satisfied with the product!
