Not like the usual black and white display, this detector will show results in color.
It can also be used to detect infrared wave forms.
It also can detect zener diode and has the function of self-calibration.
After detection, align the infrared remote control with the "IR" light, then press the button in the remote control, if the detector successfully decode it, it will display the data code and infrared wave form.
One button operation, automatically detect and shutdown, and you can press the multi-functional button to close the detector too.
Put the pins of component in corresponding area, then dial the little handle and the detector will test it automatically, finally the results will display on the back light TFT screen clearly.

Been needing to pick up one of these for a while now. This was cheap and quick. Nice build quality, nothing special but nicely made. Handy internal battery, the included micro clips are cheap but they did include hardware to rebuild the tester end - nice touch but I would have preferred a couple extra leads instead. Opened it up and found nice looking board, good soldering, 300mAh battery.I could only find one IR remote that it could decode but it worked great on that - apparently only works with Hitachi style IR encoders. For the low cost, I do recommend this device if you need a simple LCR tester.

My only complaint is that the jumper wires lasted maybe a week under us. They are easy to repair, however.

For a truly cheap tester this thing seems to work really well…very much worth the minimal cost.

I bought this in anticipation of checking over 100 leds for a pidp10 kit. I tested it with a couple of components and it seemed to be accurate and fast in identifying the components. It is easy to use, portable and the display is easily readable.

For what you pay, you literally can't go wrong. If you're unable to spend hundreds to thousands on a more expensive tool, then you're going to get unbelievable value out of this thing.If you can spend $5000+ on a 7 digit Lcr meter, great this is still totally worth the price for when it's on the other side of the room, and you forgot which MLCC is 10 uF and which one is 2.2 uF.Accuracy is often within +-10%.The fact it can measure inductors is a game changer if you're stuck with just a DMM.Very good battery life. Nice and compact. LCD is bright and the colors really make clear what's what.10/10.

I originally purchased a TC-1 about 2 years ago. It seemed to never want to hold a charge, but other than that it behaved well and did accurate measurements of anything I connected to it. I did replace the battery pack last year, thinking it was the problem, but the new replacement never seemed to hold a charge for more than 2 days either. A month or so ago, I went to use it, and nothing, dead, wouldn't even work with a charger attached nor would it take a charge. I decided to try a new one because these testers are incredibly handy, and a good value ( when working) and was surprised when it arrived with a functioning charge of over 4 volts, AND, testing it over a few weeks the charge did not go down much at all and it worked well. I am much happier with the replacement for sure, and have already harvested the ZIF socket on the old one for other projects.
