By far my favorite fidget slider (and I have a few), so much so that I bought it twice. The first time was in Nov 2023 before they started offering the silencing pads. I really like the clicking noise but it gets on other people’s nerves so I can’t use it as often as I want.I’ve been searching for a “silent” slider fidget and just got another one about a week ago. It was all metal, which gave it a nice weight, but came with like teflon stickers to put on each piece. These not only add width to the slider, but oddly create some friction so that you have to push really hard to get it to start sliding. Then because of the added width, the magnet strength is reduced, so the pieces fly apart easily. Needless to say, not very satisfying to play with. I find myself constantly coming back to THIS fidget, despite the noise. In my continuing search for a silent slider, I saw this one except now they offer the silencing pads!! Game changer!! The pads go on the outside of the magnets under the faceplates, so there is no effect on magnetism. I still get the same smooth operation and tactile feedback as my original slider from these guys, but not the clicking is super reduced and almost completely silent if I am really careful.AMAZING!!!

This slider fidget is pretty cool. I don't like that the carbon fiber is light weight. It feels cheaper than metal fidgets. I am curious what the class fiber ones feel like. I leaned toward five stars though because the ability to modify it to be "silent" is actually pretty cool and it works. It isn't silent per se, but it does take a lot of the noise away and makes the click more plastic-y than metalic sounding. Definitely quieter and less abrasive if you want to use it in public.

Really happy with this slider so far! Slides nice and smooth without causing any hand fatigue and the magnets have a really addictive feel and sound feedback. It is a bit noisy, but not as loud as others I've tried. The version with the metal cut out design on top comes with a tool and rubber pieces that you can make it quieter if you prefer. I can't believe how many people there are here complaining about it being noisy when they could change that if they paid even a small amount of attention. It's made with a really good design putting the more powerful magnets on the corners which allows the halves to make quick snappy turns without coming apart. There is a slight design flaw IMO, with the ones that have the cut out design on top. The smooth nameplate area is right in the center where your thumb pad goes, sometimes making it difficult to break the magnets hold because there's no texture to get a grip. I also bought one of the red "fiber lid" ones and it is much easier to get a grip and slide. Though keep in mind that version can't be made quiet like the others can. I can't comment on the durability yet as I have only had it a few days, but so far so good. Aside from the minor grip issue with the one version, this fidget slider is fantastic! I haven't been able to put it down since I got it!Edit: In my opinion, at least with the carbon fiber version, it works better if you remove the tape. It takes a little time of each side rubbing together to wear in, but once it does it's much better. It still slides smoothly but the magnets hold much better. Occasionally it may start sticking from oils or sweat on your hands but just needs wiped off if it does.

It's pretty fun to play with. It is too loud to use in the office. I also thought the magnets were kind of weak

There’s no logo on the center anymore(per some pictures), for some reason. Anyway. Magnets aren’t as strong as the more expensive sliders(and this is already expensive according to other reviews) but since the body’s carbon fiber, it’s not too heavy that half of it wants to fall apart from the other.I got the option which has the mutes, and they do make a difference. The silence and lightness does reduce the fidgeting experience a little imo. Even with silencers the slider will clap if you push the surfaces together with enough force/magnets touching at once.As I said the magnets are on the weaker side, and swivels will have to be done with some finesse or the slider will split up.If you prioritize some quietness and lightness in your slider, I recommend this. Idk about comments regarding teflon plates degrading. I don’t really press the plates that hard against each other, if you play sliders like this I suggest getting steel plates typical of more costly sliders.

My background / fidget needI've not been diagnosed with any autism or similar, though I have many similar tendencies including extreme sensitivity to sound and some textures. For over 20 years (since I was a small kid), I've turned the pages of a book as I was reading. It was the only thing that really made the reading stick in my brain. Reading without this kind of fidgeting just wouldn't register for me.I read a lot. Probably more than most. Every book that I've read has these excessively worn corners from my page turning, AND it creates a tremendous amount of paper dust that has actually ruined some of my keyboards. The paper dust also just creates this tremendous mess which I cannot stand. Thus, I finally decided to try and replace the page turning with something that had different / fewer downsides. My experience with alternativesFidget spinners make zero sense to me. I guess you push a button, and the kinetics are driven by a battery. Nope.I've used the Antsy Labs Fidget Cube, and I generally like it. It's quiet enough for use in meetings at work. However, I finally figured out that I need to better simulate the actual finger movements I was doing (which is basically rubbing something between thumb and index fingers repeatedly). The Fidget Cube doesn't really suit this need, so it's not an ideal solution. My experience with this productAllows me to perform similar finger movements that I do when turning pages. For this reason, I've taken to this fidget toy much better than with the Fidget Cube. The magnets work well, hand stress/tiring is minimal, and the item performs its advertised actions well.It seems like it's got decent quality, though it strikes me as pricey for what it is. It makes sense for me, because it's so a close alternative to my kind of fidgeting which would otherwise be ruining books and creating a mess. Your mileage may vary. The only drawback is how loud it is (If anyone knows of a quieter one of these, please let me know in the questions section!!).This will probably be obnoxious to coworkers in an open office (if they're within 10-15 feet of you) and it is too loud for meetings. You don't want to be "that guy (or girl)".So for now, I use this item when I'm alone and in the Fidget Cube in quieter spaces.Considering a spinner ring for quiet. We'll see...
